Favorite Things Party - Favorite Summer Moment

This summer was a great one and Erika and I thought it would be a fun idea to mix it up a bit and all share our favorite summer moment.  It would have been convenient if I had remembered this before I did a post all about our summer, but no worries - I picked three FAVORITE moments to talk about today :)

When I think about summer with my kids, I always think about ice cream at the pool.  The pool has been super stressful for me the past couple of years because of babies and swim diapers and floaties and sunscreen and, let's be real, having three kids in the water to watch and this summer I felt like the clouds lifted a teeny bit and the pool became more fun and less stressful.  I relaxed, exhaled a bit and then w ate way too much ice cream, got way too pruney and used up too many bottles of sunscreen.... and it was perfect.

This video of Griffin jamming out to some live music at the pool is one that will be forever embedded in my memory.  The little head lilt, the wet curls and eating her cone with a spoon :)

During our very first week of summer, Dave and I had a "Just Luke Day" and the absolute joy on his face with an entire day of doing exactly what he wanted to do, on his timeline was the BEST.

Next is this moment with Mason in the parking lot at school.  I had to run up there to grab something and he came with me and I opened the car doors and started the ignition to get the air going before we got in and he thought it was a good time for a dance party.  I have no idea if he's going to be this uninhibited and silly next summer, so I'm eating it up this year.

PS - his "tomahawk" move KILLS me!!!

Last up is our time at the creek in Colorado.

Getting our toes wet, throwing rocks and enjoying each other.

This summer was a GREAT one with lots of favorite moments.  I can't wait to hear about YOUR favorite moments!
