With Independence Day in 48 hours I thought I'd share some red, white and blue-spiration.
Yes... that's totally a word. ;)
While Griffin was napping and Luke was at a playdate, Mason and I got our craft on.
I had everything on hand - which was a bonus.
Red and blue paint (we used tempera paint)
Straws (I taped 7 together to make firework shapes)
Glitter
Canvas (or paper)
We squirted red paint onto a paper plate, Mason squished his straws around to get them all covered and then he pressed them down on the canvas. While he held them I pressed down all of the straws to make sure he made a good imprint.
We repeated the same thing with the blue paint and then got ready for glitter.
My plan was for him to lightly sprinkle the glitter on the fireworks, but he had other plans...
Finished!!!
I put it on a little easel in the kitchen window and he was proud to show off his work when Dave and Luke got home.
I put his name on the back and I'm excited to pull this out year after year. The whole project took less than 10 minutes which was PERFECT for him.
And just in case you need some additional inspiration, be sure to check out the posts below :)
