Happy Friday!!! Thank you so much for all of your comments on yesterday's post! I am so glad that I hit the "publish" button and made myself a little bit vulnerable.
Now on to Friday Favorites!!!
One of my very FAVORITE times of the day is after bath time when Griffin gets out of the tub and the boys hop in. We can hear them playing and being goofy (because when you're not in their line of sight they think you can't hear them) and G smells like baby lavender lotion ;)
She'll grab a stuffed animal (or five) and settle in to watch a Sofia or read books in my bed. I love a sweet smelling clean baby!!! And let's not forget about baby toes!!! Both of my boys have "big boy feet" and I'm cherishing her chubby little digits as long as I can :)
And speaking of toes :) - if you haven't ever worn Haviana's flip flops before you NEED to check them out. They're SO much better than the cheapy pairs you pick up wherever. I've had a white/gold pair for at least 5 years and they've gone EVERYWHERE with me and have held up great. I just ordered this new style this week because they're on sale (in this color) for 50% off! WOO HOO!!! I'm normally a 6.5 or a 7 and I ordered these in a 7/8 because I hate the "heel hangover" in sandals.
When Daylight Savings time hit I was fairly unaffected. We were on Spring Break and we never actually adjusted... we just slept in and stayed up late :) #notsmart
This week when we headed back to school I was slapped in the face by the reality of losing an hour and I was totally annoyed at being in my car when it was dark outside. And at almost that very moment we rounded the corner and saw this...
It's hard to be annoyed when you get to see a sunrise like this on your way to work :)
(yes.... the light is green, but I was waiting to turn left... I took these while I was stopped)
Tuesday morning was my FAVORITE!
I am definitely going to miss the sun going down at 5:00 and having an excuse to get all cozy and hunker down in my jammies
And since we're talking about sky pictures, let's talk about this one that I snapped of Luke last weekend. He was standing on the top of a hill and I love that it looks like he's in the sky.
This might be my new FAVORITE picture!
On Tuesday we wore one of my FAVORITE colors :)
(you can find my polish HERE)
And Griffin helped with one of her FAVORITE helper jobs...
Monday morning I was up and at 'em pretty early... ready to get to school and see all my kids. But Tuesday morning was another story completely. I even had to break out my "Go-To Outfit".
What's a go-to outfit? It's an outfit that I pretty much always have ready.... clean, ironed and hanging together just in case I have one of those mornings where I have ZERO time to decide on what to wear. It's something that I love and that I can layer with a scarf of jacket if it's cold.
My hair was particularly CRAY but black and white always works for me. I was wearing one of my FAVORITE outfits and was ready in enough time to take a selfie :) hahaha
Apparently I was feeling black and white this week, because I wore it again on Friday. My pants are by Matilda Jane and you can find my denim jacket HERE (and it's on sale!!!).
I got a new Barrington Bag and I am in LOVE!!! It's giant and amazing and I'm going to be my summer bag FOR SURE!!! I always end up with shoes and towels and snacks and water bottles (and then stuff for my kids! hahahaha jk) and I'm excited to be able to throw it all in one AWESOME bag!
If black and white is one of your current favorites, be sure to check out these super cute pieces!!!
These two cuties continue to be each other's FAVORITE :)
And this is my FAVORITE view when walking in the door after work :)
One of my FAVORITE parts of the day is getting all three of my kiddos in the van after a busy day :) And their FAVORITE movie that's been on repeat while in the car???? Space Jam! hahaha Throwin' it back to 1996 courtesy of the McKinney Public Library.
'
Wednesday night I went and watched my FAVORITE little skater at his lesson...
... and his FAVORITE part was watching the Zamboni :)
My friend Amy's son Lucas is currently on my list of FAVORITE people...
Dear Lucas, I love you.
I usually get Zooey Deschanel or Carly Rae Jepsen. Remember these side by side my middle schoolers did for me last year??? :) hahaha
I shared this picture on Monday, but it's one of my absolute FAVORITES and so I feel like it's worth another share :)
Dave sent me these pictures of the littles yesterday morning and it was my FAVORITE part of the day!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!
Last up is my FAVORITE of the favorites this week. Over Spring Break the kids and I made and decorated a bunch of cards for the organization Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
Basically, you make cards, send them to the organization and they distribute them to Children's hospitals all over the United States.
The kids each colored 4 or 5 and then I got in on it as well :) I also did this with my 8th graders before Spring break and so I ended up sending off almost 200 cards!
My middle schoolers drew their own cards, but I made some on the computer for my kids (and me!) to color...
All the info is on the website, but basically you want them to be fun and colorful and something that will brighten a child's day. You can't put any identifying information on it other than your name and state and you don't want any "get well" messages or anything religious. This was a great conversation starter with the boys as well about how fortunate we are to be healthy and how there are lots of kids who spend lots of time in the hospital. We prayed for the kids who would be receiving our cards and this will DEFINITELY be a little service project we do again. If you want to make some with your kids this weekend you can download the templates I made HERE or you can be super creative and draw/write your own :)
Happy Friday, Friends!!!

I have those same style of Havianas in the sand/grey color in my shopping cart! They are SO cute and look so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited! And I'm excited to not make the "flip flop noise" everywhere I go :)
DeleteTHOSE CARDS need to be added to MY FAVORITES list! What a sweet and wonderful idea! We're going to have to do that for sure. In fact, I see a summer playdate at your house. Just tell me when, and we'll be there! :) LOVE your new Barrington bag, and I think I'm going to have to order that black Anthro dress! The second I saw it I saw me wearing it with these UGG sandals I've had my eye on that are wedges and tie around the ankle! I've got some Anthro credit, and that dress is screaming my name!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic play date idea!!! I will DEFINITELY host that this summer!!! And yes - the black anthro dress with the UGG sandals would be PERFECTION!!!
DeleteThe picture of them in front of the gate...PRECIOUS!!!! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons why we're soul sisters is that we both like it to get dark at 5:00 so we can get in our jammies and cuddle up. When it's light out...you can't really do that! And I love the pics of G in her pjs! Eeks! So cute!!
ReplyDeleteYou know that in August I'll have all my blinds closed and air cranked up because I will be so ready for Fall :)
DeleteLoved all your favorites, and THANK YOU for the service idea. I had never heard about this organization, but as a mom, its a cause close to my heart, and I am going to look into this as one of our spring break projects.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
It was so easy! You can use paint, stickers, whatever! And I loved the conversations it started with my kids.
DeleteYour go to outfit puts my "go to" outfit of seats and a tshirt to shame. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteHahaha. My weekend go-to includes yoga pants.... does that count?
DeleteDarling Barrington Bag, and I love black and white on you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girly!!! I've always been a fan and find myself buying more black and white as time goes on. Maybe I'll end up being that quirky lady who only wears black and white . We'll have to wait and see! hahaha
DeleteThe pic by the gate and of GG and Mason kissing- eeeek!!! I love the anthro outfits! And the new Barrington designs are gorgeous! Online shopping this weekend! I have been sooo crazy this week with conferences and report cards but will do Friday Favorites SOOOON. The cards are a fantastic idea- my kids would LOVE this. I could have my first graders do it as well! Thanks again for all of your help with everything- the name and design you gave my blog would be amongst my very favorites this week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou'll rest well this weekend! And you're so so so welcome!
DeleteThat pic of Luke in front of the clouds is so good!! I'm loving that G and M are becoming such BFF. So cute in those pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the card templates! I am a Kindergarten teacher and plan on doing this with my class! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree and think that picture of Luke standing on the hill with the sky behind him is SO COOL!! And his shirt is very fitting....that photo is EPIC. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the templates!!! I am going to use those in my classroom!!!
ReplyDeleteI would agree with your student that this photo does look like you in a ball gown.
ReplyDeleteLove all the photos of your sweet kids, especially the one of your little boy against the sky.
Okay three things. 1) the picture of Luke on the hill - That's so awesome! 2) the picture of your kids in front of the gate is so unbelievably gorgeous. Wow! 3) LOVE G's dress in the picture of her on the bench with your puppy. Is that Matilda Jane?
ReplyDeleteJill
Saved the templates! The Peyton Manning Children's Hospital is right here in Indy and I love this idea to work on over spring break and again over the holidays! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness....you do have some look alikes!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the idea of Friday Favorites! The photos of your babies smooching melts my heart! I linked up prematurely, thus my link is not a Friday Favorites. Sorry :( However, I will be sure next Friday to link up a corresponding blog and not a random blog. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! The one of your son on the hill and your kids in front of the gate are just stunning!! Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend:)
ReplyDeleteMarta
Ohh love that idea with the cards for hospitalized kids! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mom you are! I can't believe all the things you get done AND you photograph everything. Your kids will really love looking back at their growing up years.
ReplyDeleteLove the cards! When I worked at church camp we would make cards that would be distributed at the local seniors home. The activity was always a huge hit. Great idea doing them for other children. "Little Things" kind of service projects are definitley one of my favourite things! :)
ReplyDeleteMy girls are full-on OBSESSED with Space Jam! Love the bag, flip flops, and your Dopplegangers :) and thanks for the hospital card idea! Sounds like a great summer project!
ReplyDeleteOMG That Nena bag! I clicked on it when you first mentioned last fall but couldn't stomach the price tag. But every time you show it on the blog, I love it all over again. I'm going to start saving my pennies. Do you use it as a diaper bag too?
ReplyDelete-Bradley L
Do you put each individual card in an envelope? Or do you just put them all together in one big envelope and send them?
ReplyDeleteSky pictures are my favourite too! I have definitely pulled over to the side of the road (safely!) just to take a picture of the sky.
ReplyDeleteI love that blue and white bracelet with the pouf in your stack.
Happy Friday from Canada!

I turned on Space Jam last weekend (it was on TV) and my boys were GLUED to it. THEY LOVED IT. So funny!
ReplyDeleteAs the mom to a medically complex 5 yr old girl that spends many nights in the hospital...thank you for sending cards to this organization. You have no idea how something as simple as a card can brighten up a long, stressful hospital stay. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great service project for your kids to participate in... there's another organization, Color a Smile, that is centered around a similar concept... coloring pictures (they have templates on their website) for senior citizens, military personnel, nursing home residents... their website is: http://colorasmile.org/volunteer/to_color.html
Also, I was wondering where the bag in your "go to" outfit is from... it looks really cute! :)
Thanks!!! :)
Katie
That picture of Luke is EPIC! I love the one in front of the gate too.
ReplyDeleteAwhile back, you shared your "let it go" motto for the year and I literally just saw this case and thought of you! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/kate-spade-new-york-let-it-go-print-iphone-5-5s-hard-shell-case/3925769?origin=keywordsearch
ReplyDeleteLove this post. G and Mason are precious.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics Andrea!! And that service project!! Wonderful!! Sweet, sweet family ya'll are!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that someone else feels the same way about the sun staying out later. I love it when it is darker earlier so I can get in my pjs and get cozy early :)
ReplyDeleteLove the green nails! Griffin's a cutie
