This weekend was a WHOPPER! Lots of fun, lots of family time and lots and lots of markers. :)
Mason's FAVORITE activity is still markers and now he's taken a liking to "tracing" words. I've mentioned before that everything is on "Mason's time"... and practicing his alphabet and numbers is no exception. He often tells me that he can't tell me his letters because, "I already said them for Miss Lisa today. Twice". hahaha
I've found I can "trick" him into practicing by making tracing sheets and then going over the letters with him as he traces. Also - note the left hand. Because Mason wants to do everything his own way :) I kid. But seriously. hahaha
Luke's soccer game was canceled Saturday morning and even though I was devastated not be wrangling two toddlers on the sidelines for an hour (hahaha), we dried our tears and headed to the Home Depot Kids Workshop.
Admittedly, I had a TON of stuff to get done this weekend (this week is Homecoming AND the last week of our academic quarter - double the fun!), but I couldn't pass up a morning of family fun (and the weather was perfection!).
... and shared my breakfast tea with me :)
This big boy does the entire project by himself every month. WHEN DID HE GET SO BIG?!?!?!
The boys wrapped their projects up and were anxious to get in the bounce house (which is why they are looking past me and why Luke doesn't have his shoes on. hahaha).JPG)
Griffin was KILLING IT in her new moccasins :).JPG)
After Home Depot we went to "Reading with Friends" at the library. They bring in therapy dogs and the kids get to read to/with the dogs..JPG)
I think that this is Luke's favorite day of the entire month. You wouldn't know it by that face though :)
Hahahaha
We came home and ate lunch and then one of our very favorite babysitters stopped by to bring us cookies and show us her Jeep (and her brand-new-permit-driving-skills) :)
The kids piled in and made themselves at home...
OMG - Mason!!!
This girl :)
The boys were SUPER excited about the Jeep, the cables, the lights, the hooks... all of it. I'm pretty sure one of these (or two!) will be parked in front of our house in 10 years :) hahaha
Believe it or not, this was only the first part of our weekend. I'm saving the rest of Saturday afternoon and Sunday for Part II tomorrow.
Thank y'all so much for the AMAZING outpouring of support for Manda yesterday. She actually started chemo last night (PRAISE GOD!) which was a huge answer to the multitude of prayers that were lifted up on her behalf yesterday. Don't forget, t-shirts will be available tomorrow and you can like the Manda Strong Facebook Page to receive updates and other info.
Happy Tuesday, Friends!

ReplyDeletehahaha. Is there such a thing??? :)
DeleteLook at AG looking all sassy with her new wheels! Is Mason starting to love his star hoodie yet?!? :) And you're right...little Miss G was killing it in her moccasins and cardi.
ReplyDeleteFirst, would be entirely inappropriate if a 30-something year old mama bought a red jeep? How fun is that?? And, I love that Mason is a lefty! G is press in the mocassins. So cute! Xoxo
DeleteTotally not inappropriate, I'm almost 35 mother of 2 and just got a Jeep last March and I'm absolutly love it. Jeeps are so much fun!
DeleteHe's hating it less - but he's still not lurving it :) We're working on him. hahaha
DeleteNarci - you could ROCK a jeep! And think of the volume the wind would provide P's hair :)
DeleteYour kids would probably enjoy the show Mist. It's from the UK, but you can buy DVDs on Amazon. I have a leftie, too; I learned a lot from a handwriting series we use (home school) about teaching a leftie to write. I'd be happy to share the skinny if you're interested.
ReplyDeleteI'd love it! I'm still not sure if he's going to stay a lefty - but any and all help is always appreciated :) My email is dave-and-andrea@hotmail.com
DeleteWhat a fun Saturday mornkng! And the headband...to die for!!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha. It was awesome! And yes.... the headband is pretty much the greatest thing ever :)

ReplyDeleteMy youngest is a lefty and now that i think about it he did things in "Connor" time. Love the mocassins!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that a lot! I'm thinking maybe it's a right brain/left brain thing??? Who knows. hahaha
DeleteLooks like a fun filled Saturday morning! Your kids are adorable! You are so blessed! I don't blog that much but I have a Mommy blog at www.cheathamblog.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll have to check yours out :)

ReplyDeleteThat's one of my faves too! CHEEKS for days :)

ReplyDeleteHe would love it!!! We do the HD project every month and enjoy them every single time.

ReplyDeleteI really loved your post on Manda, and will be praying for her. :)
What a fun weekend. I can't wait til our little guy is big enough for morning at Home Depot with Dad. I think that is just the neatest idea.
ReplyDeleteLove me a leftie! I'm the only one in my family...kept putting my boys crayons in the left hand...no dice. Lefties are special :o)
