WOO HOO! Today is Come On In! Kitchens and Dining Rooms... I can't WAIT to see everyone's kitchens!!! My kitchen is my favorite room in our house and, for us, it's the "heart" of our home. We spent the majority of our time in our kitchen and have made tons of great memories in there :)
A few weeks ago we showed our living rooms and I took this pic standing almost in my front door. Our house was built in the early nineties and that "window" on the right of the arched doorway used to be a wet bar. There were shutters and everything. hahaha.
The traditional dining room was in the tiled space (what's behind our couch), but since we're not formal we decided to swap out the spaces...
I love having room for our table with extra room for additional tables if we need it. Our ten year anniversary is in December of 2015 and I told Dave that as an anniversary present I want a giant farmhouse table that seats at least 8.
The pic is several years old, but it shows one of my very favorite parts of the kitchen... the brick wall. When we first walked into the house for a showing, our realtor immediately started "apologizing" for the wall... talking about how we could paint it, have it removed, etc. :) For me it was love at first sight. hahaha
The kitchen window is another one of my favorite parts. I love being able to look into our sideyard and fence full of honey suckle.
At the back of the kitchen is what was designed to be the "breakfast nook", but since our table was in the "family room" area we've made this the kids area. I was DONE vacuuming the Pottery Barn rug under my kitchen table after every meal, so we bought this table and chairs specifically for this spot. The kids can sit and eat or play or color while I do dishes, get dinner ready, etc.
Ours is the large farmhouse table and chairs. This Caroline Table and chairs set is super cute as well.
I love to decorate the kids table...
And speaking of decorating...
Okay, peeps!!! Link away!!! I can't wait to see everyone's spaces!!!
Oh my goodness friend...WHERE DO I START?!?! You know how much I loooooove your kitchen! Love it! The brick wall and fireplace are my favorite features. It's so cozy, warm and inviting. It's the perfect space for entertaining. It never feels crowded no matter how many people you have over (and I've been there with a lot of people!). The windowsill is fabulous (decorated or not). It is like my favorite kitchen ever. EVER. Seriously! I love, love, love this room :).
