Typical Morning/Afternoon

These pictures are from last Wednesday and are typical of a normal Morning/Afternoon here at our house.

7:30 AM - Everyone is awake and usually piled in Mommy and Daddy's bed to nurse (Mason) and watch an episode of Thomas the Train (Luke).

8:00 AM - Luke has picked out his own underwear for the day - ALWAYS with a purpose (i.e. "these are blue to match my eyes" or "these have cars and I love cars"). On this day he had picked out stripes to match his pajama shirt.

After picking out underwear, going potty, brushing teeth, etc. it's time for breakfast. Right now he's VERY into Pop-Tarts and he'll usually eat a pop tart along with mandarin oranges, strawberries and a bowl of yogurt.8:30 AM - Time to play! On this day we had read the Tower of Babel story and Luke was constructing his very own tower of Babel. Mason was asleep at this point and mommy was probably folding laundry or running the dishwasher before it's time to feed Mason again at 10.10 AM - Mason is up and ready to eat. He'll typically eat, I'll change his diaper and he'll "play" on his activity mat or we'll look at books or something for about an hour. At 11:00 it's time to go back down for a nap. Last Wednesday I laid him in his crib for the very first time! He looked sooooo cute! And he slept great for about 30 minutes. After that I swaddled him up and stuck him in the baby swing for the remainder of his nap time. :)

While Mason napped, Luke and I worked on a craft project... we traced his body and then worked on drawing on his clothes, face, etc.

After about 10 minutes the "craft" project turned into a "construction" project as he worked on lifting the crayons out of the bucket with his "plier crane"...

12 PM - Lunch Time! Before we eat we always say our prayers!

Today's lunch was a fan favorite - macaroni and cheese!!!

1:00 PM - Time to wake Mason up to eat again!

Mommy brought Luke's slide inside since it was a rainy/gloomy day and he had fun zooming his cars down it while Mommy fed Mason.

1:30 PM - Time for nap/quiet time... but first we had to read the new book that Lilly gave us the night before. Mason (and his very full belly) joined us for story time.

Storytime was a little too much for Mason so Mommy had to go put him to bed and then come back and lie down with Luke :) Luke and Mason both usually nap from around 2:00 - 4:00 and then it's time for Mason to eat again and for Luke to get up and have a snack.

Just a typical day - but I don't want to forget what those looked like when the boys were this age.
