This past week was Homecoming and was literally the busiest week of the year for me. I think I was at the school before 6:30 almost every morning and was doing something Homecoming-related almost every evening. Thankfully the week went great and the students all had fun. I'm completely exhausted, but it was most definitley worth it. :) Here's a photo synopsis of the week:
We started off with an Olympic style opening ceremony - this is our Olympic tiki torch

Monday was "class colors day" where each class was assigned a color of the olympic rings

None of the students knew it, but I hired the Power Team to come and do a presentation on Friday morning. Here are the kids waiting to see what's going on...
This is one of the PowerTeam guys blowing up a hot water bottle until it popped. They also ripped a phone book in half, tore a licence plate down the middle and bent a steel rod (twice) among other things... This is one of the PowerTeam members sharing his testimony and using some of our kids as "props"... the kid on the left is one of my students... he's 14 years old :)

The kid with the Lil' Superman shirt is actually older than the kid standing next to him. The size difference among Junior High boys is funny...

8th grade boys trying to make a pyramid (that's our new Student Life Center being built in the background)
After Volleyball the girls played powderpuff. It was uneventful until one of my sophomore girls took out one of the freshman... she was knocked unconscious and had to be taken away in an ambulance. Thankfully she's fine, but she does have a broken nose and sprained wrist, back and neck.
After PowderPuff we had a pep rally and the students presented their Spirit Skits. This is the 7th grade group performing thier skit...
Here are the sophomores performing "I believe I can Fly" during their skit...
The cheerleaders wanted to do bigger stunts so they got the football players to help, I think it worked...
Homecoming King and Queen...
Saturday night I had the Junior and Senior High dances. An extremely generous guy (christmaslightcontractors.com) donated all of the lights and lit up the Meyers Park pole barn for the Senior High dance...
And the trees in the MCA courtyard for the JH dance...
The only problem with putting on such a great homecoming, is now I have to start thinking about how I can top it for next year. Pressure's on!!!

After all of the activity Friday morning/afternoon, we had a JH and SH Homecoming football game where I presented Homecoming Court during halftime. Here are my 8th Grade girl nominees...
And my 7th grade girl nominees...
