Friday Favorites - Ready for Halloween Edition

Yes, peeps... you read that right.  I am READY for Halloween. hahaha
I am aware that it is technically still August - but I've been in school for 3 weeks (progress reports are due on Monday - eeek!) so that means Halloween/Fall needs to hurry up and get here.  Halloween is seriously my favorite and I am more than a little anxious for it to arrive.

So today I'm going to share a few of my favorite Halloween things that I'm excited about!
Link up with me, Erika or Narci grab our graphic below and share your favorites for the week as well!

Momfessionals

What really got my Halloween excitement started was getting this stinkin' adorable shirt in the mail from Bella Creative Expressions Boutique.  I mean...

Her quality is AMAZING and her prices are great.  This was a shirt I ordered from a sample sale she did last year and this year it will actually fit!

I don't hold on to many of Griffin's clothes - but I have big plans to take all her personalized and monogrammed things and make a big quilt when she's older.  AWWWWWWWWW! :)

I love how festive and fun these shirts are and you'll be seeing A LOT of them starting mid-September.  Yes... I'm that girl.

Speaking of that girl :)  I can't get enough of these Halloween dresses by Appearel Tree.  The pre-order for them starts today at 11 am CST (along with the leggings!)

These ruffles would be PERFECT with Griffin's monogrammed shirts!

And this dress is on it's way to GG!  Can't wait!!!

I love to be festive as well - and polka dots are my love language - so this polka dot cardigan from ModCloth is right up my alley.  Black t-shirt, jeans and sparkly TOMS and I'm good to go :)

I'm pretty sure that this Old Navy tee will be Mason's new favorite shirt :)

I'm not sure how Luke will feel about a "themed" shirt this year... so I'm loving this gingham option for him.  Festive, but without a skeleton :)

I am making myself wait until at least mid-September to decorate my house - but that doesn't mean I can't start brainstorming ideas!  If you don't want to have a full size Halloween Tree in your house, this one from Pier-1 is awesome!  It's about 2 feet tall and it would be perfect on my entryway table :)  Just sayin'

And these glitter ornaments would be perfect hanging on it!

I was going to share a pillow project I'm working on with y'all today... BUT time got away from me (and I have to make answer keys to 3 tests as well as review games before tomorrow!), so I'm saving it for later :)  In the meantime, check out my inspiration...

I'm also trying a few burlap covers with painted words on them.  We'll see how it goes!

I love this bat chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids, but it's $60.... I have the frame from Griffin's mobile that she destroyed saved in my craft closet so I'm going to attempt to make this one on my own!

And two more other craft ideas I'll be working on this weekend as well!

Last - if you need some Fall at your house this weekend, you should make these mini pumpkin cream pies :)  You can't help but be festive when eating one (or three) of them. hahaha

I think you probably think I'm nuts after this post - and if that's the case you can come back and read it October 1st :)  ORRRR you can go pre-order one of the cutest Halloween dresses there ever was, make a Halloween pillow and eat a pumpkin cream pie. hahaha

And since I can't leave you without a pic of my kids.... here's our family Halloween pic from last year.... Old McAnally Had a Farm :)

Happy Friday, Friends!!!

#teacherstyle

So how yummy was yesterday?!?!?!  I want to just cook, cook and then cook some more!  Y'alls recipes have me inspired!!!  Thank you :)

Today is awkward for me - but I'm going to talk a little bit about my #teacherstyle and highlight a few outfits that I've worn since being back at work.

- Maxi Dresses -
I love love love a good maxi dress!  As far as "bang for your buck" I feel like it's at the top of my list because of how you can dress them up or down and really wear them 3 out of the 4 seasons.  I am LOVING this chevron maxi dress from Hippie Chick.  The cut is really flattering, the material is flowy and the colors POP!  The day I took these pics I wore it to church with a pair of Kate Spade studs and a stack of HM Willow bangles.  My sequin and linen tote is from GAP a few years ago - but this leather metallic bag from Boden is GORGEOUS!!!

You could easily throw a denim jacket on over this dress with a black scarf and be good to go for Fall... but I wanted to pick something a little different - so I put on a faux leather and brocade moto jacket (mine is by Romeo and Juliet Couture.... I found it on HauteLook) and paired it with a taupe fringe scarf.

Thank you, Dave for the super awkward pic.... Dave insists that peoples heads should be in the middle of a pic. What the what?!?!?!

I can't find my exact jacket, but I put a couple of cute options below.  Also, this scarf would be a great neutral to wear with a lot this Fall.

Earlier this week I wore a navy striped maxi dress (sold out at GAP, sorry!) with a military jacket and floral scarf.  Again - my go-to look would have been to reach for my denim jacket, but I decided to push myself out of my denim jacket comfort zone a bit :)

I love love love mixing stripes and floral!  My dress is from GAP and it's sold out, but HERE is a cute striped option and if you really love the navy and white color combo Hippie Chick has a great maxi in navy and white quarter foil that's AWESOME!  And here are a few floral scarves that would be great for Fall...

My military jacket is sold out - but how cute is THIS mixed media one???

- MATILDA JANE -
Matilda Jane is quirky, fun and relaxed.  Totally me.

These ruffle pants are actually little girls pants. hahaha
I have them for Griffin and loved the print so much I decided to try them for myself.

I like to pair my ruffles with a flowy shirt and denim jacket or cardigan.

The petticoat tank from Anthropologie is a favorite with my ruffles as well.

And I typically wear them with my TOMS ballet flats.

If you're interested in trying out some ruffle pants for yourself, I'm hosting an online trunk show starting on Monday, September 1st.  There's a new release and there should be a new pair of mama ruffles! So fun!

- SKINNIES AND BOOTIES -
My third go-to outfit is skinnies with booties.  Brown cords, orange peplum top with a fallish scarf.

Burgundy Vigoss Skinnies with camo booties and a lace trim tunic...

Here are a few pairs of skinnies I love... eggplant, charcoal, green

And when I'm having a crazy hair day??? Griffin's Ruby Wrap :)

So there you have it!  A little bit of my #teacherstyle

I also wear a lot of boots and dress combos - but for some reason the last few weeks I haven't been pulling those out in the mornings.  I'm ready to start wearing tights and dresses again this Fall!

I try my best to answer outfit questions here and on IG - but sometimes I miss them :)  If you have a question and I haven't answered - don't hesitate to ask again. hahaha

Tomorrow is Friday Favorites and I have something FUN and FESTIVE up my sleeve for y'all!  I can't wait to share!!!  Happy Thursday, friends!

Recipe Club - Enchiladas!!!

I'm not sure I've ever been as excited for a Recipe Club as I am today!  I am ready for Fall and to get back in my kitchen more.... when it's 100+ degrees outside the last thing I want to do is crank my oven up to 400 degrees.  Now.... when I can open my sliding door and the boys are playing out back and it's CRISP outside?? I'll cook all. day. long.  I'm dreaming of cooler days and am making a list of everything I want to make :)

Dave and Luke requested enchiladas on Sunday night and so enchiladas it was!  Oftentimes when I cook I don't measure.... sorry!  You really can't mess this recipe up though.  Promise!

You'll need one large can of Cream of Mushroom soup (this is the family size... but you could do two smaller cans) as well, two cans of enchilada sauce (yes... mine are two different sizes... again.... it doesn't really matter), 2 pounds of ground beef, about 3 cups of cheese and a package of tortillas.

Combine the enchilada sauce with the cream of mushroom soup.  I know it sounds weird, but trust me.... it's delish.

I combined that while I was cooking the ground beef with some onion.  Yes... I used frozen chopped onion.  Because it is convenient and in something like this I don't think it really makes a huge difference.  I just threw a bunch in there.

I stirred about two cups of cheese into the ground beef/onion mixture after I drained it and then I got everything ready to assemble.

I put some of the sauce into the bottom of my pans (this is making a 9x13 and a smaller dish as well) and then put the ground beef, cheese, onion mixture into the tortilla and roll it up!

This made about 17 enchiladas.  I made a big dish that we ate for a couple of nights and then a smaller dish that I froze and can pull out on a morning when I know we're going to have a busy night.

Pour the sauce on top - and yes.... it's going to be a lot.  But it'll be fine :)  It's the best part!

I threw some more cheese on top and at this point I put the big dish in the oven (350 degrees) for about 30 minutes uncovered and the small dish I put the lid on and stuck in the freezer.

Hello, Gorgeous!!!

I recommend eating this somewhere other than in front of your computer while entering lesson plans :)
I served it with Mexican rice (out of a package - because... easy!) and Dave had refried beans with his as well (not my thing!).

These are quick, easy, hearty and since I used mild enchilada sauce they weren't super spicy and all three kids ate them no problem.

Okay y'all! Hit me with your best shot! Show me what you've got :)
