House Game: Bottle Flipping Race

It's no secret that middle schoolers LOVE bottle flipping.... yes.... still.  I decided to capitalize on that and create a quick and easy bottle flipping "race" during our Monday Meeting time last week and it was a hit!

I set up five cones and had one student from each house all crouch at the first cone. I shouted "one, two, three, flip!" and on the count of three they all flipped their bottle.  If they landed it they got to move up to the next cone. I opted to do the "one, two, three, flip" method instead of just letting them flip a ton of times super fast because, honestly, it just felt less chaotic and easier to monitor ;) And everyone had the same number of flips.

Once they reached the fifth cone they won! If I had had two people reach the fifth cone at the same time I would have just stood had them keep flipping to see who could flip a 6th time first.

This went way quicker than I had anticipated and we were able to do 4 or 5 rounds which is always a plus because the more kids I can involve the better. The supplies were minimal although next time I'd bring a few more bottles of water because these got pretty beat up and janky after so many rounds.

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!
