House Game - Pizza Box Balance

Pen This week's house game was a big hit and one of my very favorite things - FREE!  Dave stopped by Domino's on his way home from work and asked them for 24 pizza boxes.  They were happy to oblige and that was really the only prep I needed to do.  Once I got the stack of boxes to school I assembled the boxes (took hardly any time at all!) and we were ready to go.

You could play with any number of kids - I had 4 groups of 6 kids each and they have to balance a pizza box on one hand while running/walking around trying to knock off other people's pizza boxes with their other hand.  If their box is knocked off, falls off, or they're caught "balancing" it against their body they had to place their box back in the middle and they were out.  We played in our gym and as kids were eliminated I used the lines on the court to make the playing area smaller and smaller and if they stepped out of bounds (white lines, gray lines, etc) they were out as well.  The last kid standing won points for their House.

We have a House "block" on Wednesdays that's anywhere from 20 - 30 minutes depending on how quick kids get to the gym, how long it takes me to get over there, etc. and we were pretty quick on this day so we actually played 6 times... 6th grade girl round, 6th grade boys, 7th grade girls, 7th grade boys, 8th grade girls and 8th grade boys. It took about 30 minutes to get through all 6 rounds

Hoping you can use this for your next Youth Group or House activity! Here are the other games/info I've shared...
