DITL - 12/3/2025

I took pics a couple of weeks ago to do a DITL post and then, honestly, just forgot. hahaha. So today is the day despite it being a month overdue ;)

  I was up around 6:15....

... and spent about 10 minutes doing some minimal makeup and throwing some dry shampoo into my day-three hair.  Good enough is my motto in the mornings.  I'll typically let it hang out in my hair until I get ready to walk out the door.

IGNORE THE MESS (or don't and just know that if your counter can go from clean to this in like 15 minutes you're not alone) - but I typically have at least one kid in the bathroom either fixing their own hair, asking me to add curls to their hair, etc ;) NOT mad about it!

A festive mug of tea...

... and then it was time to make sure lunches were ready....

... and this is when Mason showed me the ornament he crafted for his world geography class and I pretty much threatened him to within an inch of his life to GET IT BACK so that I can keep it after the project because y'all KNOW I love a homemade ornament and I don't get them anymore!

G and I loaded up and headed out around 7:05 (Mason rides with Luke)...

... which was a bit earlier than normal since she and I had to make a quick stop to grab donuts for a House game I was running later that morning.

It was a quick stop and we were pulling into school before 7:30.

7:30 and time to get my classroom up and running for classes to start at 8:00.

G told me my OOTD was giving crazy art teacher "in a good way" so I took that as a compliment ;)

All the lamps on, twinkle lights going and getting my board and slides up and going for the day.

Morning announcements are broadcast from my classroom so we got that taken care of right at 8 am...

... and then I had a Math 7 class where we worked on applications of percent and did a shopping for Santa partner activity.

In between P1 and P2 on Wednesdays we have House game time which means I have to come up with and then execute a game every week.  I follow a ton of Youth Group accounts and get lots of ideas from there and on this day decided to attempt the game where kids have a donut on a string where the other end is tied onto their foot and it's hanging over a pole so they have to raise their feet to lower the donut and then eat it without their hands.  WELLLLLLLL I didn't have a metal frame situation to do it so I improvised with ladders and an extension cord (because I couldn't find a rope on my way out the door in the morning) and it worked JUST FINE!

That's my kid on the ladder holding the extension cord and keeping the ladder weighed down because I was there to give permission. hahahaha

I got back to my classroom after House time and had a special flower delivery on my desk! This was Dave and my TWENTIETH wedding anniversary and he KNOWS that I love a big colorful flower arrangement with peonies ;)

I taught another section of Math 7 and then ate soup in my classroom with Sharon where we do our daily debrief and yap session ;)

After lunch I taught a section of Pre-Algebra where we worked on percent of change and then during my planning period I had to run to Target to grab a few things I had ordered for my small group. My plan was to go later in the week after school but then I got the dreaded "this is your last day to pick up your order" email so I had to run out and grab it.

Since I was already out I swung through Starbucks....

... and grabbed a drink for Me and G.

I was back at school in time to work on some slides for the week...

... and give G her drink after school before doing some tutoring and working on some exam prep.  G hung out with friends after school and then we headed out around 4:45...

... when we got home there were a BUNCH of packages on the front porch (those are all wrapped gifts ready for ribbon on the bench - hahaha)

... including this Caraway set from Dave! EEEEK!!!

We kept dinner super simple - Costco lasagna for the win....

... and I had a Walmart delivery order arrive so Mason could make a "brazilian dessert" for his geography class.

My front hall was full of plants thanks to some freezing temperatures the night before so while I ran G to Youth Group I asked the boys to move them out for me and they delivered!

I got back home in time to eat some lasagna and salad with the boys...

... and start a load of laundry before...

... changing into sweats...

... helping Mason start his dessert...

.... and then picking G and a friend up from Youth Group.

Back home to switch over the laundry...

... monitor some homework while I worked on my blog...

... and then hop in the shower.

Soooooo Mason's brigadeiros were a total flop and so he and I remade them at like 10:00.  UGH!

THANKFULLY we were able to get enough rolled out and refrigerated for his class the next day.

One last cup of tea while I tidied up...

... and when I went to blow dry my hair I found G had already made herself at home on Dave's side of the bed since he was on his trip ;) hahaha

Got my hair dried...

... and crawled into bed next to this cutie right around 11:00 p.m.

WHEW! What a day! Let me tell you - days like this make me SO GRATEFUL that Dave doesn't travel often ;)

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!

  2. I actually think I would have loved Math if you had been my teacher. lol. You make it so fun. I wonder if you could share some of the youth accounts that you get game ideas from. I’m always looking for new ideas for our youth at church! Happy New Year!
