I did a post similar to this one last year and got some great feedback - so I'm doing the same thing this year. Think moms, dads, husbands, wives, sisters, friends - pretty much anyone. The end. Lots of these are similar to past years because they're still my tried and true favorite things to give and receive ;)
If you've followed me for any length of time you know that my family loves sjoelbak. It's a traditional Dutch game that's almost like a smaller version of shuffleboard. I bought this for my parents several years ago to upgrade the board my Opa made and we've LOVED having it.
I bought this rummoli board for Dave last year and it was one of those gifts that was hard for me to keep a secret because I was so excited to gift it. I grew up playing Rummoli at my grandparents cottage and Dave has played it with us since high school and I love that we'll have this beautiful board until we're old ;)
This set of chirp wheels was something I bought myself a few years ago and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! I wasn't sure which size I would like but turns out I like them all. I usually start with the second to largest one, then the second to smallest and then the largest. I like the small one for my neck and I can honestly say that I've seen a lot of improvement in my upper back tension.
I'm laughing because nothing says forty like a gift guide focused on products that make your back feel better. hahaha I bought this percussion massager last year and everyone in my family loves it. The charge lasts forever and it's a really great size.
Saranoni blankets are hands down the best blankets you can buy. I know that Barefoot Dreams talks a big game and Homegoods has blankets for $30 but they just don't compare. DO NOT COMPARE. Saranonis are softer and weightier and just all around better than any other blanket out there. I said what I said.
If you're looking for a sentimental gift idea consider a memory quilt. At this point in the year you may have to do this gift certificate style but regardless it would be so sweet.
Last year I had our old family VHS tapes converted into digital format for my parents and I think it's probably the greatest gift I've ever given anyone. You may have to file this away for Father's Day at this point but I felt like it was definitely worth mentioning.
One of our favorite games is crokinole. It's kind of like shuffleboard but you "flick" the stones. A really nice, heirloom quality, board would make an amazing gift that your family would have forever.
If you don't think crokinole would be your family's thing - a corn hole set would be the same kind of thing... a gift that your whole family would get to enjoy and make memories with.
I bought an acupressure mat last year and it's a game-changer. I love it so much and use it pretty much daily.
So here’s the deal… it hurts. Like a lot. But then it gets tingly and warm as the blood starts to go to that area and then it’s SO GOOD. When I was reading reviews I’d see people say “I sleep on it” and I was like, “yeah, no” - well I can proudly report that I doze off pretty much nightly. I put on some calming music, put the mat on my my bed, turn off the lights and lay on it for about 20 minutes and I look forward to that time all day. I have the mat and the neck pillow and I lay on it with my back bare which is pretty intense but again, once you’re through that first 5 minutes it’s awesome. I’ve definitely noticed a reduction in my shoulder tension and I think having those calm 20 minutes really helps me get into a relaxed mode for the night.
The first two days I used it I felt kind of icky after (almost like after a really good massage) but I drank a bunch of water and it passed quickly.
I’ve also stood on the mat at the end of a long day and it absolutely helps with tired feet.
So there you have it! I hope this list helps you cross of a person or two from your list ;)
Happy Shopping, y'all!
