Y'all! I totally forgot to mention this last week but Dave and I celebrated our TWENTIETH anniversary and he got my FAVORITE flower shop to do these for me and I just about passed away they were so pretty ;)
How did we celebrate you ask? Well - he spent two nights in Amarillo for a work trip and then came home sick. hahaha SUCH IS LIFE, right?
OH MY WORD!
This week I got recruited to chaperone some of my FAVORITE high school girls to their State cheer competition in Waco. One of their coaches couldn't make it and they needed a staff chaperone and how could I say no to these precious girls ;)
We left Monday afternoon and had to make a quick pitstop...
.... before getting them settled into the hotel and doing some practice in the hotel parking lot and then heading to dinner. hahahaha
After dinner they had the SWEETEST team meeting and then Katy and I (the coach) yapped in our pjs until after midnight.
Y'all. I had to drive one of the school's 15-passenger vans and it was a trip! hahahaha
Nobody else I'd drive that beast of a van for!
This was my first cheer competition experience and my mind was a bit blown. hahaha And this is super small potatoes compared to bigger competitions.
I pretty much just helped out the coach as much as I could despite knowing NOTHING and felt like a fish out of water but had so much fun watching the girls compete and learning A LOT from them about the world of cheer competitions :)
We were at the colosseum until after 7 pm and I was SO GLAD that I went the comfy route that day (but seriously when do I not go the comfy route) ;) (hoodie in a different colorway)
Wednesday our House Games were Christmas-themed and so much fun! I'll share more about these next week!
It was also Christmas pj day for teachers and I was super grateful ;) hahaha
The art and choir Christmas showcase was this week...
... and it was so fun to see a bunch of Mason's art displayed. He's in graphic design and 2D art and we were so impressed with his work!
This cutie studying and snacking is my FAVORITE!
And how cute is my new FAVORITE Christmas shirt. I randomly bought it from a lady on FB marketplace who makes them from vintage quilt pieces. SO FUN!
Last, but not least - we had our small group Christmas party yesterday and my weekly time with these girls has been my FAVORITE. They all brought their favorite snacks and we did a gift exchange and it was just so sweet!
This weekend we have Christmas parade, small group party and LOTS of exam prep happening. I'm hoping to MAYBE sneak in some Christmas baking - we'll see!
