Okay, y'all.
Back on Prime Day I saw this watercolor set on sale and decided I wanted to give it a shot. I had had several "watercolor for beginners" videos show up on my Instagram algorithm and was like, "why the heck not".
I added this little spiral of small papers to my cart and promised myself that I would give it a try when my kids were at camp.
Y'all. I am having SO MUCH FUN! I have zero clue what I'm doing but I'm doing something every day and am enjoying it so so so much!
I have been loving watching Andrea Nelson on YouTube and on IG and her tutorials are so encouraging and easy to follow. Once you start liking or saving her videos on IG others will start popping up and I've been screenshotting or saving those and trying one thing a day.
It's been fun to be creative and try something new for no purpose other than to be creative and try something new ;)
I quickly realized that the brushes I had in my craft closet (just random brushes I've collected over the years) weren't working like the brushes in the tutorials I was watching so I snagged these brushes...
and These fine line pens...
and this set of journals to give myself a bit more space and just practice and play around.
I want to reiterate that I have no clue what I'm doing but I love that it doesn't have to be perfect and that the supplies to give it a try really are minimal.
If you're looking for a hobby to pick up and try this year I can't say enough how much I'm enjoying playing around and learning something new. If nothing else I hope that this encourages you to try out a hobby you've been wanting to try ;)
HAPPY Monday, friends!
