Three Things - Back to School Edition

- THE RUMOR IS TRUE -

I feel like everyone talks about how Junior year is tough and Luke's course load this year is here to prove that rumor true.  He has four dual credit courses and AP Physics on his plate and I've said "better you than me" several times ;) hahahaha He's an excellent student and I'm sure he'll handle it all in stride but MY GOSH I'm glad I'm not in high school!

- CAPTAIN -

Luke is the XC men's varsity captain this year and it's been fun to watch him step into that role a bit this summer.  They have their first meet this weekend and I can't wait to see him rise to the occasion this season.

- STUDENT SECTION -

Luke isn't doing band this Fall and he can't wait to be in the student section at football games.  Up to this point he's always been with the band and he is really looking forward to being with friends and not having obligations before and after the game.  Different for sure but loving that he's excited about it.

- CRISIS AVERTED -

Mason does NOT like change and, honestly, has been kind of dreading going to high school.  Anyone remember how he was the exact same way when it was time to go to middle school??? He's been lamenting about this and that throughout the summer and wouldn't you know it.... he came home yesterday THRILLED with his schedule, teacher, etc.  CRISIS AVERTED, y'all!!

- DOUBLE ART -

Mason is living his very best life this year taking Art AND Graphic Design.  He is absolutely in his element and I can't wait to see what he learns!

- BOYS MORNINGS -

Mason opted to ride to school with Luke this year and it's kind of killing me! I LOVE that they're having their "guys mornings" together but I wasn't mentally prepared for this! hahaha. Mason LOVES it because they park in the student lot so he gets to socialize and make the rounds before heading up to the high school ;)

- MATH CLASS-

It's happening! G is in my class this year! After having both the boys in my classes over the past four years I can't believe we're here!  So far she told me I'm "way funnier than she thought I'd be" so I'm taking that as a compliment ;)

- ANIMAL SCIENCE -

G's elective this Fall is animal science and she couldn't be more excited.  It's with one of her FAVORITE teachers who loves animals as much as G and loves to bring her crew of critters to class.

- CHEER -

Our little cheerleader is back at it for another season of school cheer.  She LOVES being on the sideline but I think she loves just being with the coaches and girls even more.

- - TWENTY -

Y'all.  This is my TWENTIETH year in the classroom.  I literally can't believe it.  It's blowing my mind and I'm really struggling to figure out where all the time went.  Between the 20-year mark and having two kids in high school (one who's talking colleges) I'm having to REALLY focus on the present and not stress about how fast time is flying but it is FLYING.

- BLOCK SCHEDULE -

Our middle and high schools just switched to block schedule and I want all the tips and tricks!  SEND THEM MY WAY, PLEASE!  I'm figuring things out as I go and so far so good.

- TRAINING -

Unrelated to school - but apparently there are wiener dog races during Oktoberfest downtown McKinney and Mason has been training Frank to compete.  I LITERALLY CAN'T WAIT!
