I am by no stretch of the imagination anything close to a makeup girly. I keep things as light and minimal as possible and the older I get the pickier I get about the way things look AND the ingredients in the products.
Everything on the left is skincare stuff as are the three Colleen Rothschild jars (an moisturizer, a scrub and then a spot treatment I I believe).
The things I use on the daily are...
- ILIA concealer - I use this under my eyes, a dab or two on any extra redness on my cheeks and then a dab on my chin. I blend it all in with this brush.
- I mix a few drops of these drops in with this vitamin c serum and that, along with the blended out concealer, is all I really use as far as "foundation" goes. My skin for sure doesn't look blurred out or completely perfect - but I'm cool with that ;)
- I have two shades of this Ilia multi-stick blush and I just tap that in with my finger
- If I'm feeling like a little highlight I really like this highlighter from Merit
- For my eyes I use this liquid to powder eye shadow from ILIA (again, I just dab it in and blend it out with my finger), this clinique eyeliner (I can't find a cleaner option that works as well and I've tried!) and then this ILIA mascara. It's fine... but nothing will ever compare for me to the $9 Loreal one that blows everything else out of the water - but G has definitely been digging into my products a bit this year so I'm making a concerted effort to keep things a bit cleaner. If you have a clean mascara option that you love I'd love to hear about it!
- Last, but not least, I recently got to try out the Colleen Rothschild lipstick balms and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! I'm NOT a lipstick lover and these are so shiny and hydrating and PRETTY! I'll share them over on my IG stories this week!
There you have it! It's not a lot but it's tried and true for me and does the job ;) If you have a product that you love and trust I'd love it if you'd drop it in the comments.
HAPPY Thursday, friends!
Fenty eye shadow sticks are great. I had the Ilia one, but it ended up leaking (even while closed) all over my makeup bag and made a huge mess. I also love Saie's cream blush. And to feel a little better about the 'clean' things, you might check out ranellamd on IG, among others like Charlotte Parler. It kind of opened up a new world and algorithm for me. They made me feel much better about the cosmetic industry situation. And then for all things "clean" food related, I've learned a lot from Food Science Babe and others like her. Not to be controversial, but sources like these really helped me understand those domains better and I felt a lot better about the products and foods we eat.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I’m excited to check these out. I really appreciate it!
DeleteThese are my favorite posts!! I'm like a kid in the candy store :) .
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on the new lipstick balms from Colleen. Next time I place an order I am going to get one. I don't love a full lipstick, but love a sheer gloss with some color. The one I loved from Tarte was discontinued and I love the fact that Colleen's are hydrating.
