PNW Trip: Hood Canal

After our day on San Juan Island we made our way to our last stop - a rental house right on the Hood Canal.  I booked the house solely for the incredible views and the wildlife sightings that all of the reviews talked about.

We spent two days here playing corn hole on the deck....

... oohing and awing over the views and THAT WATER...

... doing puzzles...

... exploring along the shoreline...

... playing in the basement...

... reading on the porch...

.... and hanging out outside the whole day so we wouldn't miss an orca or bald eagle sighting.

The house was older and not nearly as well-equipped as the first house we stayed in but it for sure made up for it in the setting...

... property...

... waterfront...

... and this window ;)

We played games...

... baked cakes...

... watched eagles hunt...

... and put our feet in the water as often as possible.

The house had a couple of single kayaks that we enjoyed taking out...

... and a HUGE highlight was when Dave and Mason were out on the water and a harbor seal popped up and swam around their kayaks for a few minutes.  CAN YOU EVEN?!?!?!

LOOK AT HIM!!!

While we were here the weather was significantly colder than it had been earlier in the trip, but that didn't stop us from fully enjoying the outdoors.

We booked this house through VRBO and enjoyed our time there. You can find the listing HERE and I'd also recommend checking out my WA2 highlight on IG  for awalk through tour with more details.

  1. My husband grew up in Brinnon and still has family there. I was ECSTATIC to see that you were able to go to this hidden gem! I've visited a few times and am always blown away by the scenery.
