M&M Cookie bars

I made some sweet treats last weekend for fun and to serve as study treats as my boys worked their way through finals.  The kids LOVED them and I think yours will too!

What You'll Need...
- 3 cups flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini M&Ms
- 1 1/2 cups M&Ms

What You'll Do...
Step 1 - Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.  Line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with baking spray.

Step 2 - Whisk the flour, corn starch, baking soda and salt together.

Step 3 - With an electric mixer or in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, mix the room temperature butter and sugars together until smooth.  It will be a little lighter incolor and took about 3 minutes.

Step 4 -Add the vanilla extract and completely incorporate.  Next add the eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition.  Scrape down the sides of he bowl and make sure that everything is mixed together.

Step 5 - Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet while mixing on low speed.  Scrape down t bowl as needed.  Don't overmix - the dough will be THICK and that's ok!

Step 6 - Add the chocolate chips and M&Ms to the batter and mix with a wooden spoon until it's all combined.  Leave out a few of both kids of M&Ms so you can press them into the tops of the bars later.

Step 7 - Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and press it evenly.  Press a few M&Ms into the top.

Step 8 - Bake for about 40 minutes or until everything is golden brown.

Step 9 - Let them cool COMPLETELY before trying to take them out of the pan.  Slice into squares and serve with ice cream - trust me ;)

These are SO YUMMY and gooey and PACKED with chocolate.  The pan makes a TON since you can cut them pretty small and while I used Christmas M&Ms you could use any and they'd be great.

Happy baking, friends!!!
