Weekend Happies

I wasn't planning on writing a weekend post but then this weekend had  to go be all fun full of good stuff and here we are :)

Friday was our anniversary and our plans got changed last minute so we loaded up the kids and headed downtown.  It ended up being the sweetest night and fun since we actually got married down here 16 years ago on another unseasonably warm December day.

It was seriously SO NICE out so The Yard it was for some of our very favorite food...

Like their smothered waffle fries...

... and this salad that I seriously dream about ;)

After dinner we walked over to Emporium for some pie and the Father Christmas (peppermint cream with a cookie crust) was out and it was the PERFECT icing on the cake :) If you're in McKinney or Bishop Arts in Dallas ALL of Emporium's pies are incredible but the Father Christmas is seriously something else (if it's not in season the Smooth Operator is our go-to).

After pie we walked around the square a bit checking out store windows and taking a couple of rides on the carousel.

Such a fun night!

Saturday morning Buddy arrived with his annual North Pole Breakfast (more on this tomorrow!)...

... and then we were off and running for volleyball and a birthday party for some special three-year olds :)

This puzzle made me SUPER happy...

... and so did getting to use the only wrapping paper I ever want to use ever again :)

We headed to a friends ranch for a pretty epic ninth birthday party that included gaga ball...

... trailer rides...

... capture the flag...

... and a small bonfire for roasting hot dogs and making s'mores and hot dogs.

Seriously THE BEST time!

This little scene made me super happy...

... and so did watching Mason's team back out on the court for the first time this seasson.

CUTIES!!!

The sweetest group of carolers capped our Sunday night off on such a high note because I MEAN is there anything better??? It was absolutely darling.

And then this ;)

I hope your weekend was full of lots of HAPPY!

  2. What an amazing weekend! I'll be coming to the Dallas area in April next spring with my mom-in-love to visit her best friend. She lives in a small town near there, but she's close to McKinney. I added your recs of The Yard and Emporium to my list of things for us to do, since they're new to that area. Thanks for sharing and happy belated anniversary! I love all your memories from the weekend and that birthday party on a ranch? Talk about heaven to a kid! I hope you have the best day!
