Butterfly Thank You Cards

Mason and G crafted over the weekend and the process was super simple but the finished products were SO CUTE!

They started off making "sky paper" using watercolors.  Various shades and intensities of blue and different brushes and sponges.

While the sky paper was drying they painted a few more pages in warm colors - watercolor and then some acrylic on top.

After everything dried they cut the sky paper in half lengthwise...

... and then used a butterfly punch to make butterflies for the front of their cards.

The punch is really cool because it is two magnetic pieces and you can punch anywhere on the paper (unlike a lot of punches where you can only go along the edge of the paper).

Next they bent the butterflies just a little bit in the center and used hot glue to glue them down onto the cards.

Last, they wrote "Thank you" on the front and then a note to each of their teachers on the inside.

They turned out SO CUTE!!!

LOVE how the butterfly wings look on the paper!

We paperclipped a gift card on the inside and BAM! Teacher gifts!

HAPPY Tuesday and happy crafting, friends!

PS - the punch is old but I found a few on eBay and affiliate linked them below...

  3. I love that you let YOUR KIDS DO IT. Mason with a glue gun brings me joy. LOL. I am a teacher and I love the home-made cards with their little notes about what they loved about our year.
