To the Moon and Back Lunch

Last Sunday I put together a fun lunch for Valentine's Day.  I found the plates on the Sugarboo website last year and the idea just kind of spiraled from there.

I used things that I had on hand and things I knew my kids would gobble up and it was so much fun

I actually ordered this $6 galaxy tablecloth last year and never used it so I folded it in half and used it as a cute runner.  I started with sweets on one side and worked my way toward savory.

We all love the heart cookies from la madeline and I made an impulse purchase at the store on Friday with the gummy peach rings :)  The moons are PB&J sandwiches I cut out and the "galaxies" are rice cakes with peanut butter, bananas and cheerios.  Some of the sweets were leftover from the "magic popcorn" board I did the week before and some sweets we brought for teachers...

The big moon is actually a nightlight that usually lives in Luke's room...

... the zinc hearts are Sugarboo and the napkins were a Pier 1 find a year or so ago.

Fruit, crackers, pistachios and Muenster cheese cut into stars :)

My kids (and Dave and I) are all obsessed with the garlic and herb Boursin cheese and Dill veggie dip.

The "rocket dogs" are just turkey dogs wrapped in crescent roll and topped with a cheddar nose.  I bake them at 400 until they're golden and puffed up.

I hope you gleaned an idea or two - I think that this could be SO CUTE as a "TWO the moon and back" two year old bday theme or a random fun dinner for your kids before watching a space movie.

HAPPY Thursday, friends!!!
