7 questions

They're from Nickel and Suede and I love them so much!  I also had questions about the stars and they're from N&S as well...

If you're looking for color coded and labeled bins I am NOT YOUR GIRL :) I tried to be that girl but quickly realized that that was way more about me than it was my kids and so we've defaulted to what I call the "big bin system".  Yes... everything has a place, but that place itself doesn't have to be organized.  It's been freeing!

I wrote a whole blog post about how we organize toys back in May and let me just say that after reading the post I'm inspired because my kids rooms currently look like this after almost a month of Christmas break :)

And yes, we have a giant dollhouse in our dining room so it's take what I'm saying with a grain of salt ;)

I could write a NOVEL about this process but for today I'll say that it's 99% done.  We have some lights on order and a couple of other tiny things but YES.  I haven't shared about any of it because, honestly, by the time it was done my plants were all dead, our grass was brown and I WAS OVER IT.  I promise that when I get flowers back in my pots and things start looking better (and the lights are finally replaced) I'll share.  Overall we couldn't be happier but the process hasn't been pleasant - you know what I mean?

Apparently inquiring minds want to know! hahaha  And these were only a handful of the responses!  My intention was never to leave anyone hanging - but I think I was kind of waiting for the dust to settle on things a bit before sharing too much.

Dave left Stonebridge back in October and started working as the new homes sales advisor for Blue Haven homes.  It's a new home development about 40 minutes from where we live and while the commute is something new so are the WAY more reasonable hours.   Dave is LOVING everything about his new job and it was really an answer to prayer in so many ways.

I couldn't be more proud of Dave for all of his hard work at Stonebridge  -  and over the past few months hearing and seeing how missed he is from both members and employees has just reaffirmed our confidence in how well he's going to do in this new industry and position.

The only plans we officially have on the books are for family camp in Colorado.  We had planned on going last summer but decided to postpone until 2021 and we are SO looking forward to some fresh mountain air.

Mason got  a cornhole set which was probably everyone's favorite gift.  Dave and I got it for him because he's our kid who will literally roll a water bottle down the driveway for an hour trying to get it to hit a certain spot of the cul-de-sac and so we knew that this would be right up his alley and would be great for solo play since he cold throw the bags to one board and then back to the other board over and over again but what we didn't realize was how much fun everyone would have playing.

Griffin got several American Girl doll accessory sets (Costco for the win!) and a few additional accessories and outfits from the Our Generation line at Target.  She's been into all things medical/pets/ballet so these were her favorites...

Luke's favorite was this  Saturn V Lego rocket along with a sphero.

This $20 sound bar works PERFECTLY and can be LOUD!  It just plugs right into the projector itself and couldn't be easier.

I hope y'all are having a great week - we're back at school and excited about the semester!

  1. Congrats on Dave's new position. It sounds like it will be a great fit for your family. Have a wonderful week!

  2. We love cornhole!! And congratulations to Dave on the new job. Way more reasonable hours are a HUGE plus!

  3. That family camp looks amazing! Can't wait to have kids - would love to go in the future :)

  4. We love cornhole too but haven't yet purchased our own set yet; we play at local parties since just about every family member we know has one.
