Friday Favorites

Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us and if you're linking up with us make sure you grab our graphic, link back to one (or all!) of us and share your own Friday Favorites post.

First up on my list for the week is soccer camp!  These two had so much fun and sending them off together was my FAVORITE!

Luke and Rosie living their very best lives on a rainy day was a FAVORITE...

...and swimming with friends was a FAVORITE.

Getting our organization on at the Little Free Pantry was a FAVORITE...

And this cute little sporty spice ready for practice was a FAVORITE!

Despite our patio/pool renovation taking a little longer than anticipated dreaming about it being completed and ready for hosting has been a FAVORITE...

This sunset was for sure a FAVORITE...

... and this pic after helping me drop some things off in my classroom was a FAVORITE.
HOLY COW this is exciting!!!

I ordered  this gel face mask and it's quickly become a new FAVORITE.  I put it on at night after my serums and it feels SO GOOD!

Red, white and blue is always a FAVORITE...

... as was reuniting with Rosie after soccer camp :)

Luke has a new FAVORITE movie...

... and poolside lunches (that I don't have to cook!) are my FAVORITE :)

I hope y'all have had a wonderful week and have a restful weekend.

  1. OK, that shirt with the mermaid flag is 7-year-old patriotism at its finest. Love it!

    Enjoyed all the photos.

Keep seeing Texas in the national news for having one of the sharpest COVID surges. Surprised these kid camps are still on. Hope you all stay well!

    1. Thank you! I've been really impressed with how the camps are handling everything... encouraging hand washing, sanitizer stations, keeping kids separated and when that's not possible (like in a soccer scrimmage) making sure there's no prolonged contact. It has been SO GREAT for all of their little hearts to get a bit of normalcy back. Also - even though my kids have been involved in sports again they still haven't been into a store or restaurant... trying to keep our contact minimum!

    2. Wait - they went into the appliance store but we were the only ones there :)

  2. I've been reading along with you for YEARS. Kindly, I say this, I don't think you should post the name of your kids' school for safety reasons. :) But you decide. All my hugs and high fives. Have a great weekend.

    1. I've had the same thought but, unfortunately, since I'm on staff if you google my name and my job the school pops right up and it's always been apparent that my kids go to school with me.

  7. I keep seeing Texas making the news and for life of me can’t understand while y’all aren’t wearing masks! It’s not a political statement! It’s human decency. Going to the pool with friends, camps, sporting events....no wonder Texas keeps breaking records for hospitalizations, deaths and daily positive cases!

    1. Hey! We're actually not breaking any records for hospitalizations or deaths... in fact we rank 43rd in the US for deaths (we have 8 deaths per 100,000 people while NY (at #1) has 161 per 100,000). Yes, cases are rising - but we're testing 35,000 people per day and the death rate here has actually decreased from 12% to 5%. Less than 20% of our ICU beds are occupied by Covid patients and while there are more positive tests (which would be expected for testing the amount of people we're testing) hospital times are about half of what they were in March. As far as masks go I never said they are a political statement.

    2. Also - those death rates are just out of people who were in the ICU so the actual death rate is much lower (the current death rate of all case not just ICU cases is under 2%)

    3. How do you explain away the fact that % of positive tests was below 5% in March and is now 9%? And while you may be saying “we have plenty of beds available in hospitals,” it’s problematic for multiple reasons. Hospitals aren’t staffed for full capacity so quality of care is decreasing. Additionally, there may be enough beds available in the state but what happens if a person in Houston gets sick but there is only a bed available in Laredo? I don’t think your mindset of “as long as we have enough beds for people to have ventilators in we should continue to risk the spread” is very smart. Even the governor of Texas has gone back on his stance of reopening. I would suggest you speak to health care workers and scientists to get your information.

  10. I have to say I am so disappointed that you are portraying ( not sure exactly because I only can comment on what I see ) a normal life. Where is live we have less than 200 cases, not several thousand. People are not having playdates and swimming and doing sports. They are wearing masks and social distancing. We have been since March. We are a frontline family and these normal everyday actions are putting us at risk. It's not a normal summer. It sucks but it just isn't and for everyone who acts like it is ..well they just prolong it for everyone 😟

    1. It's not a normal summer for us either but we're taking precautions and living our lives within the framework put out by our state government and the CDC. We've worn masks when required and are participating in activities that have been approved. I'm not acting like everything is normal but am for sure trying to focus on the positive.

  11. So many incredibly rude comments this week. You’re doing the best you can while being a sweet mom to your three. I hope the negative Nancy ladies will go away. Such a terrible way for them to live. Enjoy your weekend! Love - a Prosper Mom who can enjoy life and wear a mask when it’s necessary :)

    1. I definitely understand and appreciate that people are concerned. Wish that people would communicate with me via email, dms, etc before jumping to some pretty big conclusions and assumptions but that’s nothing new. Appreciate your kind words!

  12. Do you have a link for the super cute tank top that Griffin is wearing in the sporty spice pic? It's so cute!

  13. Crystal, I’m sorry you wasted your time. I’ve tried having conversations similar to this with Andrea and she won’t respond because she can’t defend her lack of responsibility
