What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay and  Sheaffer to talk a little bit about what's been going on around here!

Snacks, snacks and then some more snacks.  FOR REAL - my kids have been eating non-stop and we're burning through berries and apples like nobody's business.  Nothing super exciting has been happening in my kitchen but I have been making zucchini bread on repeat because YUM and it counts as a vegetable, right? ;)

You can find my zucchini bread recipe HERE if you're on the lookout for a tasty treat!

Mason's colonial day last year because AWESOME!!!

Look at my little wigmaker doing his thing!  ;)   #wemissschool

Evening fishing trips.  We've been hitting up the neighborhood ponds and having the best time.  They can do everything themselves and Dave and I just get to watch which makes it even better!

Staring at the puppy.  The end. hahaha
Seriously though, I had forgotten how you have to watch them non-stop when they're little.  Good thing she's cute!

Texas is opening May 1 (not fully, but a lot of things) and honestly - I'm kind of sad that quarantine is over.  The slower pace has been GREAT for the soul and while my patience has been a bit thin at times overall this whole experience has been a total blessing.  When else do I get to start my day outside with all my kids on a regular basis with NOWHERE to be?!?!

Family movies!  I was on a roll with doing them monthly and then kind of dropped the ball.  I'm getting back at it and having so much fun.  If you don't know what I'm referring to it's these little videos...

This SCREAMS "36 and boring" BUT I'm SO EXCITED about  this chair I grabbed on Amazon.  We've been spending a ton of time in the driveway (another sentence I never anticipated saying) watching the kids play, doing chalk, working on school, etc. and it's been AWESOME!  It's super comfortable and I love it so much!  Dave really loved it to so he has one coming as well - because nothing says "old married couple" like  matching driveway rocking chairs :)

I just started The Dating Game Killer and am really liking it so far!

Leggings all day every day.  I finally tried out  these Amazon leggings and I LOVE THEM!!!  They're way thinner than my normal ZELLA pairs and a great weight for Spring/Summer (yes... I wear leggings at home all summer).

Nothing crazy... probably a lot of the same old thing which is TOTALLY fine with me.  It's supposed to be almost 95 degrees on Sunday (BOOOOO!!!) so I'm sure we'll be hanging out by the pool.

It's that time of the year and I've restarted Gilmore Girls.... again.  I'm convinced it will NEVER EVER get old!

I'm reading Homefront and so far it's good! I'll update y'all on it (and a few others I've read lately) next week (or maybe the week after).

Home Front – Kristin Hannah
I'm excited about school getting out!  The kids teachers have planned some fun events to end the year (individual tie dye day, show your teacher your best work day, etc.) and I'm excited to be at home without the school component.  I'm also excited to be able to give them my undivided attention without answering a bunch of emails and/or grading while they're playing.

Not a whole lot!  Just puppy-ness and all that that entails!

HAPPY Wednesday, friends!

  6. Ummm have definitely been looking into those rocking camp chairs since a friend of mine had one at a quarantine 6 feet away parking lot dinner. Yep, we are definitely old.

  7. I feel the same way re: being sad about quarantine ending (although I live in NC, and we are staying closed well into May, it seems). Just a thought: just because the TX governor says things can be open, your family can still choose to stay at home and in your happy, safe bubble for longer :) Maintain the slow pace, I say!

  9. We have those rockers, and they are perfect for driveway sitting and being at ball games! As a teacher, I am also ready for home time without answering emails and doing lessons. Just spending all the time with my kids, without a care in the world.

  11. I live in Massachusetts and let me tell you.. be so glad you live in Texas and you are in a state where you can reopen and the worst is hopefully behind you. Count your blessings. Don't complain about reopening. We are in week 7 of quarantine and likely going to June so please be grateful.

    1. I wasn't complaining - I said I was sad that the dedicated time at home with family was coming to and end. It's not mutually exclusive - so very grateful that the worst is behind us but still a little sad about the time we've had at home with each other (without activities and other distractions) ending. Praying your family stays healthy!

  13. I'm kindof sad about quarantine ending too. This working mama has loved being home every day (though I am working from here). And I'm with you on those chairs. My grandma gifted them to us a few years ago and they are the best gift ever!
