Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  It's been a great week over here... much less eventful than last week (thank goodness!) and it's a brand new quarter at school so I feel totally on top of things :) hahaha

PLUS it was cool enough for puffer coats in the mornings and so that cuteness was one of my FAVES!

Erika Narci and I are all sharing our FAVORITES from the week and if you'd like to join us all you have to do is grab our graphic, link back to one (or all) of us and share your own Friday Favorites post.

I was browsing online at Pottery Barn this week (I'm putting together a Harry Potter Christmas gift for Luke) and am LOVING  these Thanksgiving melamine plates.  I have a set from years ago that's really similar to this set and it's my absolute FAVORITE.  I haven't loved their holiday plates in recent years but these are PRECIOUS!

And look at how cute  the tumblers are!

Here's a picture of some of them on our kids table for Thanksgiving dinner last year but my kids use them all November long.

And since we're talking Thanksgiving,  one of my FAVORITE decorations EVER is back!  I use mine to hold utensils on my counter but it would be so cute with a plant in it or even filled with candy/nuts.  You could also have little pieces of paper out next to it and your family could write things that they're thankful for over the month, fold them up and put them into the bucket and then y'all could read them at Thanksgiving dinner.

We've had a TON of butterflies at our house lately (we have butterfly bushes and lantana which they love) and it's been Jellybean's FAVORITE.  Free entertainment!

These two have been requesting their FAVORITE drink (hot chocolate) in the mornings before school and watching them sip out of mugs in the morning is the cutest ;)

Do y'all remember  my FAVORITE coat from last year?  It's a fun spin on the teddy bear coat trend and I wore it a TON.  Well, I picked up  this sweater on Amazon and it's seriously the perfect color with the coat.

The sweater is slouchy but bot sloppy and has the perfect amount of stretch.  It has a HUGE cowl that lays really pretty as a cowl/turtleneck but can also be pulled down to make the sweater off-the-shoulder.

These are the most awkward pics ever, but it was dark in the morning and while I intended to grab better pics after work we had workers at our house and so I opted out of that :)

Sweater / Leggings / Shoes

The weather this week has been SO GOOD!  Windows open in my classroom are my FAVORITE!

And cool evening kickball games are pretty great too.

And the sunsets have been my FAVORITE as well.

We went and got flu shots this week (we're ready for you new twin cousins!) and this girl was NOT EXCITED.  This picture I snapped of her waiting to get called back cracked me up.  I swear that her eyes were this wide for at least 10 minutes.

Cake pop as a little treat afterward :)

I made one of my absolute FAVORITE sides this week... about a pound of brussel sprouts cut in half, tossed with olive oil and sea salt and then roasted on a sheet pan for about 40 minutes at 350 then drizzled with balsamic and sprinkled with more sea salt.  Sometimes I'll toss them in graded Parmesan as well - LOVE THESE!

Several people in our neighborhood go all out with Halloween decor and we've been taking walks at night to check them out and hang out as a family.  Some of my FAVORITE times are these walks!

A friend shared this with me this week and I laughed SO HARD because this couldn't be more true!

Happy FRIDAY, friends!!!

  3. Please don't ever quit blogging, Andrea!! Your posts are just so happy and sweet. Besides, Grandma Griffin would just be so happy to have all her grandkids' lives documented for her. :) Seriously though, you help me watch for all the little little things to be thankful for- like little kids drinking out of big mugs!

  5. I am WITH Griffin on the shots. I. hate. them. When I was little I had to be taken to a back office because my screams scared the other children. Yep, good times. I love the Turkey. So cute!

  8. My middle son often refers to his mug of hot cocoa as "my version of morning coffee!" He swears it's the only way to start a cold day.
