Teacher Tuesday - EASY Teacher Dresses

For years I've been talking about my hunt for good "Teacher dresses".  What makes a teacher dress you may ask... well, here are my requirements...

1) Can be thrown on in a pinch when you wake up well after your alarm goes off thanks to a late night finishing report cards

2) Can be jazzed up with fun accessories and nice shoes on a day you need to look a little more professional OR worn on a casual Friday with sneakers when the last thing you want to put on is jeans

3) Has a cute sleeve so you don't have to wear a jacket... preventing you from burning up every time you walk outside (which is a lot for me since our campus is open air).

4) Is comfortable enough that you can handle sitting at a flag football practice, choir rehearsal, a trip to the grocery store and then cooking dinner in it.

5) Is an appropriate length/fit for standing, moving, sitting, etc. in front of a classroom full of teens/pre-teens all day.

Simple, right??? Well... today I'm sharing a couple of PERFECT options I found and I'm super excited because they're from one of my favorite retailers - Nordstrom.  I say it all the time, but their customer service is unmatched.  Free shipping, free and easy returns and so many great brands to pick from.  I'm usually pretty loyal to a few of my favorites including Caslon because I love their price points, easy styles and quality.

First up is this pink tee dress.  It's simple, yet interesting with a back pleat detail, rolled sleeve and POCKETS!  The color is great and the length is PERFECT.  It checks all of my "teacher dress" boxes.

I paired it with  these shoes which I am absolutely LOVING!!! They reminded me of my favorite wedges but they're a flat option and are SO COMFORTABLE!!!  They're dressier than a flip flop but not as dressy as a wedge and I LOVE THEM!  The top strap is stretchy which makes the fit absolute perfection.

I also grabbed  these earrings which are surprisingly lightweight and so much fun!  I also grabbed  this clip set because I love the colors but I honestly can't figure out how to wear them in my hair.  If you're way cooler than me and can figure out how to do a clip in your hair these would be so cute!

This is the same dress in gray that I paired with a denim jacket and sneakers but could just as easily be worn with the gold sandals or flip flops.

I ordered a small in both of these dresses and while I could have sized down to an XS (they run a little large) I love the length on the small and so I'm fine with it.

The dress also comes in navy/white stripe which would be perfect for me since navy, white and gold are my school colors!

The dresses below are the same brand, appear to be a similar fit/style and are part of the anniversary sale.  I love them both so much!  They're on their way to my house but I don't have them yet to share - but I will as soon as they're in!

The other dress that I picked up was  this black v-neck sheath dress.

I love the sleeve length, fabric (this one is lighter weight than the shirt dresses)  and the length.

And look how cute the earrings are with this one as well!

Denim jacket for a more casual look or heels to dress it up.  It comes in six colors and is one of those items I feel like I'll have for years and pull out all year long.

Below are the items I showed in this post along with a few other dresses from the Caslon brand that I think would make great "Teacher dresses"

Also - Griffin is NOT a teacher BUT I would totally wear  this dress if it came in adult sizes AND it would make a perfect teacher dress.

Happy shopping, friends!!!
