Weekend Recap - Short & Sweet

Happy Monday, friends!  This weekend was a great one and to prove it I only have a handful of pics ;)  That's the best kind of weekend, right?

Saturday morning we slept in, ate cinnamon toast and then split up for errands and dance class.  Griffin's favorite part of class is getting to watch the "big girls" before her class starts so we always try to arrive a few minutes early.

After dance G and I made a Trader Joe's stop

(I shared my TJ favorites on IG this weekend, but I'll update my previous blog post and repost it this week!)

Dave took Griffin to a birthday party...

... while the boys played outside because it was GORGEOUS!!!  I have zero pics because they were running around and I had all the windows open while baking and cleaning.  GLORIOUS!

Saturday night was Lego Ninjago night and everyone passed out on the Nugget in the game room.  Perfection.

Sunday morning was unseasonable warm so we broke out the florals...

... and someone RELISHED in the warm wind. (Seriously, y'all.  LOVED IT!)

Last weekend Dave and I realized that we have reached a parenting milestone.  We cleaned up after lunch and I was all, "let's go take a nap".  And not like a "lay down on the couch and doze while the kids watch a movie nap" but instead a "pull back the covers on the bed and get IN THEM" kind of nap.  The kids played together upstairs and we didn't have to worry about anyone needing a diaper change or help getting a snack.  IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

Needless to say, the after-church nap has become my new favorite part of the week :)  After our nap yesterday we headed to Dave's Grandma's house to wish her a happy 97th birthday.  97, y'all!  How awesome is that?!?!  We were talking on the way over that it feels like it was just yesterday that I was pregnant with Mason and we were celebrating her 90th.  We are so grateful for the blessing that having both of Dave's grandmothers in our kids lives is.  Here's Griffin Joy with Minnie Fae Griffin ;)

After the party we went and saw The Greatest Showman and it TOTALLY lived up to the hype!  I was nervous because I had heard SO MUCH about it and I was seriously braced and ready to be disappointed but it was so great and we're already talking about going again.  It was absolutely stunning - I went home and google imaged it just to get another look at the costumes because WOW and the music is incredible.  If you haven't been, let this be my official bossy moment... GO! :)

Can y'all even believe that this is the last full week of January?  I thought that December blew by but January is giving it a run for it's money.  Luke is competing in the Area Level spelling bee this Friday, I'm going to be the mystery reader in Griffin's class and it's going to be a great week!

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and are having a great Monday!

Happy Monday, friends!

  8. Two questions - where is Griffin's leotard from because I love it! And second, did Griffin go see The Greatest Showman too? I think my 5 year old would love it, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate for her!

  17. Oh, how I wish we had a Trader Joe's nearby! And, the Sunday afternoon nap made me chuckle. Our son and his wife do the exact same thing. They hurry in from church and crawl in the bed while their girls 3 & 8 play to their hearts content until Daddy and Mommy get up. It's their favorite part of the week. And, The Greatest Showman was just the greatest movie!!!! Have a great week!
