It's Show and Tell Tuesday and we're sharing our FAVORITE holiday. I really tried to be creative with this and at first I thought I'd share my favorite thing about several holidays, then I thought about sharing my favorite Holiday meals and when it came right down to it I just wanted to write about Christmas ;)
Don't get me wrong... I love the anticipation and costumes and candy at Halloween and celebrating the Risen Savior with family at Easter and cooking all day in our jammies on Thanksgiving. I love the fireworks and parades on July Fourth and celebrating all things LOOOOVE on Vanlentine's Day but there's just no better holiday than Christmas.
I love the smells of Christmas, the twinkle lights and how almost everything is "special". I love preparing our little food traditions with my kids....
... especially when they are in precious jammies and standing on a chair in order to reach.
I love the giant stockings and all the excitement about what's going to fill them...
... and the extra time spent with friends :)
We love wearing festive clothes and visiting Santa...
... and receiving Christmas cards from family and friends.
And of course we love matching jammies ;)
I love seeing my kids faces LIGHT UP...
... and staying up late playing games and eating cookies.
I love the parade...
... the gingerbread houses...
... the downtown festival...
... and BAKING!!!
I love looking at lights, wrapping gifts, having Christmas music on in the house.
I love when it snows (this was Christmas day 2012!)...
... and when we spend time together finding the PERFECT gift for someone.
I love the candlelight...
... the giant cookies...
... and extra time with family.
But most of all I love the renewed and refreshed focus that Christmas brings. This was art by Luke from 4 years ago and I feel like it pretty much sums it all up!
Okay... so now I want some hot cocoa and some fuzzy socks :) I hope y'all liked this festive little post and I hope you get to share your FAVORITE Holiday below!
Happy Tuesday, friends!
Oh, Andrea!!! Me too!! To all of that! Especially the hot cocoa and fuzzy socks!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that extra large stocking? We do extra large stockings in our family too and all I could ever find was the flimsy ones that last a couple years at best.
ReplyDeleteAnd I need to say...what a crazy big cookie! :)

ReplyDeleteSOOOO FUN! I love all of our family traditions too and feel like they get sweeter over the years since the kids are old enough to understand and anticipate them. Your picture of Christmas snow made me SO EXCITED because even the hope of snow in our first winter out of Florida makes me positively giddy.
