Happy Friday, friends! We SURVIVED!!! The first full week back is in the books and while we definitely had our hiccups (Griffin was a hot mess getting out of the van in the pouring rain during carpool yesterday and as I was waving goodbye to her I realized her skirt was on backwards) we're fairly unscathed :)
I have a whole bunch of random goodness for this week's FAVORITES and if you have favorites to share be sure to link back to me, Erika or Narci and add your post to the linkup at the bottom of this post!
Our downstairs air conditioning went out last week and Dave and I ended up bunking with the kids upstairs. I slept with Griffin one night and waking up to the snuggles and BEST morning sun in her room was a FAVORITE little moment. Almost immediately after I snapped this pic we were laying there talking and she goes, "mommy... your mouth smells like poop"
OMG!!! #momlife
Griffin's new FAVORITE accessory of choice? A scepter, of course!
Ice cream at Mason's end-of-season baseball party was apparently a FAVORITE ;)
We had to go pick up Luke from a birthday party last weekend and I called upstairs at the last minute to get Mason and Griffin to come downstairs so we could go and Griffin came down in a few of her FAVORITE dress-up items. Oh my word, y'all.
Thankfully another dad walked Luke out of the movie theater so I didn't have to walk my circus inside to get him :)
Second day of school and looking WAY TOO BIG - but that little hand on the hip is my FAVORITE!
Tuesday night we had our Life Group end-of-summer party and these three were ready to swim! So much so that Mason gave me total stank face when I asked to take a picture. Dave and I do the social events for the class and so we get there early to make sure everything was ready and my kids LOVE it because they have the entire pool to themselves.
And yes... both my boys are now rocking the little suits :) Earlier in the summer Mason constantly complained about his GAP trunks being too "heavy" to swim in and so I ordered him this pair of trunks and they were immediately his FAVORITE. After determining that Mason's trunks made him "go faster", Luke requested a pair and now both boys only want to wear this style. The teeny trunks are my FAVORITE so I'm not complaining ;)
Mason's FAVORITE part of the party was catching a frog in the pool...
... and showing it to all of his friends...
It was a great night with friends and y'all... look at all those kids!!!
Having co-workers that are friends and send you pictures of your kids being silly is one of my FAVORITE perks of my job :)
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
And glancing out my classroom window during my planning period and getting to see my kids playing is another FAVORITE
My students know I HATE E.T so when I Was going around this week checking to make sure everyone had their math binders in order I couldn't stop laughing at this one...
ET isn't my FAVORITE but I do love that he was giving me a hard time about my phobia :)
And last, but not least I am SO EXCITED to be giving away one of my most favorite things ever... a Nugget! I reviewed ours earlier this year and I can honestly say that it's something that my kids use daily. They build forts with it, make it into their "stage" and crash on it after school. They jump on it, read on it, we have movie nights on it and sometimes even request to sleep on it. This week it was our "after school hangout" spot and was where they hung out for a solid hour or so reading, doing a bit of homework and taking turns playing on the iPad...
Be sure to check out my instagram today and keep an eye out for the post there because that's where you'll enter to win one of your own! You can check out the Nugget website HERE for information on the product, photos of the colors and tons of different configurations. They're running a $25 off special through Sunday with the code BACK2SCHOOL25 right now as well!
Happy Friday, friends and GOOD LUCK in the contest!!!
PS - This post contained affiliate links and a big shoutout to Nugget for providing the couch for the giveaway! Y'all rock!!!
I love those new suits for the boys! And Griffin is looking like such a little lady at school!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lizzie! I think she is too! :)
DeleteI also have a severe ET phobia! When I was little I was convinced he lived in our dining room so I would run thru the room as quickly as I could so he couldn't get me. Ha!

I STILL don't love having shower curtains closed because I think that when I pull them back he's going to be in the tub all white and sickly. Blech.
DeleteI'm dying at how adorable those teeny trunks are. I might have to pick up a few for my boys, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! They LOVE them!!!
DeleteHappy Friday! Loooove the dress up outfit ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenn! I loved it even more when we didn't have to go out in public in it :)
DeleteGriffin in her school uniform is TOO CUTE!! Oh my goodness, when did she get so big?!
ReplyDeleteRight?!?! I feel like it happened totally overnight!
Deletemy boys both swim in jammers, a benefit of growing up team swimming lol
ReplyDeleteYES!!! MY boys just look like they do team swim. hahaha
DeleteGriffin's dress-up earring is my FAVORITE! ;)

Thank you! She feels pretty fabulous in them!
DeleteThose nugget couches look amazing for little kids!
ReplyDeleteMine LOVE them! I really can't say enough great things!
DeleteGriffin is so cute in her uniform! Glad the first week went pretty well for all of you! Enjoy your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I've had first weeks where I got SUPER SICK (bronchitis, laryngitis, sinus infection AND pink eye) and first weeks where I found out I was pregnant... so this week was AWESOME! hahaha
DeleteI love Griffin's fancy dress and accessories! Those earrings! My two year old daughter just started getting into plastic high heels and it's my absolute favorite!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! The earrings KILL me!!! :)
DeleteCan you tell more about the bin/seats in pic with mason? & the pic of small (huge!) group kids gives me hives! I know that is my future but our life group party is tonight & that many kids gives me anxiety ha! (I only have 1 1 yr old so far! Ha)
ReplyDeleteThey're in his classroom and I believe they're file boxes with plush little seats on them that his teacher uses for storage. And its a TON of kids, right??? And believe it or not I think it was probably only about 50-75% of the kids!
DeleteI can't get over how funny Griffin was at the pool that night!! Her Barbie strut plus being so obviously exhausted but pushing through and then her hair all in her face for the final picture...like she was just too tired to push it out of the way. Hahaha. She is the cutest thing! And those nuggets look amazing!! I want one!

Hot. Mess. Express :) And you NEED a nugget! A pink one in that house full of boys!
DeleteJack Bauer in the last two pics with the kids is my favorite! He's totally posing for the picture. The first week of school wiped us out and also brought strep home for my daughter and my husband.
ReplyDeleteJack Bauer wants to be where his friends are ALL THE TIME!!! And BOO for the strep! That's horrible!
DeleteGriffin is SO cute! Love her in that uniform.
ReplyDeleteIs her hair a bit less curly after the haircut? My 4-year-old daughter has very similar hair and has never had it cut yet. Wondering if we'll lose some of the ringlets when we cut it. You'd think having less weight would cause those curls to spring up, but it seems that's not always the case.
Thank you!!! And yes... I really thought it would help the curl but instead it's like I actually cut it off! so crazy!
DeleteHave you upgraded your camera via new phone or are you using a better camera? Your pics look especially "professional" now. Would love to know what you are using!
ReplyDeleteI got an iPhone 7 plus earlier in the summer but have mainly just been trying to get my "big camera" out more often :)
DeleteMy daughter is the queen of smells at our house. She holds nothing back when it comes to breath or body odors...sigh! LOL! That is the sweetest group of kids from your life group and I thought we had a lot of kids in ours. xoxo ERIN
ReplyDeleteSo funny!!! Sometimes you just don't need that much honestly that early in the morning!
DeleteWould the nugget work in a middle school LA classroom for alternate seating for work or reading?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great! They could configure it however suited their needs and they'd probably get a huge kick out of it!
