Friday Favorites - Meet the Teacher Edition

Happy Friday, Friends!!! We had LOTS of favorites this week but at the top of our list was celebrating our FAVORITE guy turning 34!

We celebrated with cupcakes, swimming and presents.  Perfect night!

If you have FAVORITES to share make sure you link back to me, Erika or Narci and then grab our graphic and submit your link at the bottom of this post.

Another FAVORITE of the week was dinner with Dave's family and his mom bringing baby pictures :)  Look at baby Dave!!!

And then these three kept it classy afterward when Gram asked for a picture :)

I worked all week and my classroom came together before meet-the-teacher (#allthepraisehands)  I'll be sure to share details in the next few weeks ;)

Back to work means I can't get away with wearing a swimsuit coverup or  this romper every day of the week :)  I eased back into real clothes with  this maxi and  necklace and was comfy and work-appropriate.

Having my kids in my new classroom after school snacking and coloring before we head home was a FAVORITE this week as well ;)

Dave and I laughed so hard when we walked down the stairs one night and saw one of those "sticky hands" little slimey things stuck on the wall above the living room :)

Checking out the view of the school property from the second floor of the high school was a FAVORITE part of the week as well!

Went to pick the kids up from ESS and found Mason doing one of his FAVORITE things :)

Meet the teacher was last night and it's one of our FAVORITE nights of the year.  There's so much anticipation and excitement and then add in seeing friends for the first time in a couple of months and it's a total blast!  Unfortunately I'm in my classroom meeting my own students, but Dave is a champ and took all three kids to meet their teachers.

Griffin is BEYOND excited for Pre-K!  She's only been asking about starting for about two years now :)

Mason has the same teacher Luke had in first grade and y'all.... she's incredible!!! One of my favorite teachers (and people!) ever!!!  He's going to have a GREAT year!

Luke with his homeroom teacher.  Yes... homeroom!!!  He'll switch back and forth between two teachers and can't wait for the change of pace.  And so fun that I taught his teachers daughters! ;)

When did she get so big?!?!  (her skirt is on sale  HERE and  her shirt is only $5)

It wasn't JUST meet-the-teacher... there was a ribbon cutting for the new High School and bounce houses and games.  SO FUN!

Ready to meet my kids!!!  (ps - we had to wear a t-shirt and if you know me you know I'm not really a t-shirt girl. hahaha   I made it work!)

It's been  a super hectic and busy week and we are so excited to soak up some time together before hitting the ground running on Monday.

Happy Friday, friends!!!

  3. That necklace is so unique! Where did you find it?

I'm curious to know how long it took you to cut out that confetti for the bulletin board.

And I love how you wore the MJ ruffles with your tee. I hate tee shirts, too. Our school asks us to wear them certain days.

    1. Thank you! I grabbed it at Anthropologie this past week. I linked it in the post if you want to check it out.

It probably didn't take as long as you might think it did... I used the paper slicer and it went pretty fast. Stapling all those individual pieces was another story though :)

And thank you!!! I really like for kids to get an impression of who I am on Meet the Teacher and so this year when they told us we could wear the t-shirt (with shorts!) I was all, "that is as "not me" as you can get!" and so I opted for ruffles and a kimono to make it a little bit more reflective of my style :)

  5. I can't wait (because I'm anxiously hoping) for photos of your whole classroom! I always say my missed calling was being a teacher and I can remember fantasizing about how I would decorate my room when I grew up to be one. :) And I love your necklace too. Going to check that out now ...

  6. Andrea, I hate to even ask, but would you please keep my family in your prayers this week for back-to-school? My daughter is starting Kindergarten, and we didnt get in to our 1st choice school. So, we've been thinking we'll make the best of her second-choice school. And then we went to Meet the Teacher on Wednesday and it was AWFUL! SO SO SO Awful! We are feeling very discouraged and unhappy about things and it's just NOT how Kindergarten is supposed to feel. So, we have some tough tough days ahead of us as we sort out a long-term plan for Elle's school. (She's going to go to the second-choice school to get her started while we determine a new plan.) So frustrating!

    1. Oh no!!! I'm so sorry!!! Kindergarten in itself is a huge change and so I can't imagine going into it with that unsettled feeling. Praying for your girl and that maybe the current situation isn't as bad as it seems right now. Hoping that things get settled and you fall in love with the school! Praying for y'all!

    1. Thanks, Karol!!! It's from Free People last year. I try to sprinkle in some fashion in my posts and will be updating the "shop" tab at the top of my page to include things that I'm loving. I may have to work on a "teacher style" post once I get back into the groove of school a bit. THanks so much for the suggestion!

  9. Did you get to pick the color of that wall in your class? It's beautiful! Such a fun week. I can see so much of Dave when he was little in y'alls boys❤️. You rocked the tee and I know how you feel. I feel pretty much the same about wearing t-shirts as costumes😜. Happy Friday Andrea!

  14. Love your classroom!! But I'm laughing at the sticky hand stuck to the wall. We were packing up the condo Wednesday to leave and looked around to make sure we had everything and saw a purple sticky hand stuck to the ceiling in the kitchen. Craig had to jump a few times to get it. There's also been a sticky man stuck to Matthew's ceiling forever now! Ha!

I'm typically not a huge fan of MJ stuff (I just don't think I could pull it off?), but I loveee how you styled those black ruffle pants with your t-shirt.
