What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with Shay, Sheaffer and Mel for their last What's Up Wednesday of the year.

What We're Eating This Week
When we're home during the week I feel like all they do is eat :)  We've been sticking to our "little bits of lots of things" mentality with a HEAVY dose of snacking mixed in.  And it's even better than normal because we're using Santa plates!

What I'm Reminiscing About

These sweet boys!!!  This was at last year's Christmas program...

... and the Kindergarten cuties at this year's performance.

Oh. My. Word.

What I'm Loving
When Dave and I bought our first couch I bought a set of colored dinnerware from Pier One that I have LOVED!  But... I've been itching for a set of solid white that I can use with a bunch of pretty (and random) dessert plates.  I ordered this set of white dinner plates and this set of salad plates and I'm IN LOVE!!!  Because of the price I was a little worried they weren't going to feel substantial - but they're great!

What We've Been Up To
Yesterday we spent a solid 3.5 hours at Playstreet and I had to drag them out in order to get to speech on time.

They have tons of different toys/sensory items that they rotate out and my kids were infatuated with this play foam.  I'm done with stockings, but ordered a few sets for Valentines or Easter baskets or such.

There were encased bugs that Griffin was ALL ABOUT!

And the moon sand table was a hit as well.

 Everyone in their element :)

What I'm Dreading
Taking down my Christmas decorations!!!  I'm usually a "when it's over it's over" kind of a girl, but I may just leave them up a little bit longer this year.

What I'm Working On
Let's Talk Tuesday prompts!!!  If you have an idea for something we can show and tell about in 2017 shoot me an email (momfessionals@gmail.com) or leave a comment below!  I've had several people make suggestions and they have been WONDERFUL!

What I'm Excited About
All things Christmas!!!  Today is our "baking day" and last night we grabbed ice cream and headed out to look at lights.  We're planning on heading to Deerfield tonight, but last night stopped by a house in Prosper and Oh. My. Word!!!  It's all set to music and is INCREDIBLE!!!
(I took a few videos and posted them on my Instastory if you're interested) :)

And here are a couple of pictures from their website...

The best part is that they collect money for an organization that supports the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

If you're in North Texas I HIGHLY recommend checking it out!

What I'm Watching/Reading
Luke finished the first Harry Potter last week and he is officially in love!  I'm reading it as well so we can talk about it :)  I haven't ever seen the movies or read the books and so it's fun experiencing it all for the first time together.  I'm also reading Girl On The Train (I know... I'm officially the LAST person to read it).

What I'm Listening To

We're STILL listening to Frozen over here, but if we're going to listen to it we LOVE the Pentatonix version...

I'm almost too embarrassed to post this because the video is so incredibly ridiculous, but this song gets me every time.  Every.  Single.  Time.

And my FAVORITE version of my FAVORITE Christmas song.  LOVE!!!

What I'm Wearing
Nothing worth noting :)  Lots and lots of sweats and PJs.

What I'm Doing This Weekend
CHRISTMAS!!!  I feel like we're at the peak of Christmas magic around here and I can't wait to soak it all up!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
I typically consider the beginning of the school year my "new year" (I'm perpetually stuck on an academic calendar), but I do love the "fresh" that comes in January.  A clean house, a clean slate and (fingers crossed!) the possibility for snow.

What Else Is New
Nothing much!  Soaking in Christmas BREAK ;)

What's my favorite memory from 2016
There are so many!!! I think my favorite though was moving.  Which sounds weird since it was seriously the pits and exhausting emotionally and physically BUT it was such a momentous event for our family and the start of a new chapter.

  3. I just finished Girl on the Train last week...so good, and I'm also a big fan of that song from Arianna. You should totally recreate the dab picture when they are seniors!

  9. We are firm believers in the LOTS of snacking during breaks as well. I can't seem to keep enough food in the house during breaks for my three. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for Let's Talk Tuesday!

  11. Between you and Shay, I'm so ready to move to McKinney TX! I love Playstreet and those Christmas lights! I showed your snap to my husband last night and asked if we had anything like that around here. He googled and came up with a few:). Hopefully, we will get a chance to check them out. And, thanks for the valentine/easter idea, my grandchildren will love it! Happy Baking Day!

  12. I'm reading the Harry Potter books with my son too! We are just starting the second book together, although he's a little younger than yours so can't read them on his own yet, so I'm reading them out loud. It's my favorite thing EVER! Then after we read the book we watch the movie, which I haven't seen. He heard about Harry Potter World and I told him as soon as he could read an entire Harry Potter book on his own we would take him, hopefully he'll really get it when he can read on his own. Sometimes I think things go over his head...but then he laughs at all the right places...soo...Merry Christmas!

  14. I live in Washington, D.C., but my in-laws live in Prosper and we've been to that house! So cool. When we were in town for Thanksgiving, I also got a chance to check out the McKinney square for the first time and it was so cute. Loved shopping there.

  17. Can you do a post on "How to shop online". Do you search my new items and then scroll through that or do you type in "Blue shirt" if you need that etc. You guys always find the best deals but not sure how you do that :)

  18. Let me suggest getting the audio version of Harry Potter. . .it is so, so, so good. We did all of those several years ago (we never did movies in the car -- always audio books) and my kids, ages 18-14 now, want to do them all again. Even though my 16-yr-old is reading all the books for the 3rd time. And last year we got her the illustrated version (you would totally LOVE) of the first book and the second one is under the tree this year! The movies are not nearly as good -- hold off on those if you can.
Merry Christmas!! Enjoy soaking up this time with your kiddos :)
