I love a Christmas tree and twinkle light as much as the next person BUT I've literally waited 11 months to put out my pumpkins and I'm not ready to say goodbye to them quite yet :) We packed up Halloween last week and pulled out a few Thanksgiving-ish touches to hold us over until it's time to break out all the Chistmas decor.
A comfy blanket in pretty fall colors and a few touches on the shelves in the living room...
I took Halloween down, put out a few of my normal decor items and added in a cornucopia, the "gobble" sign and a pumpkin. Easy!
I call this pumpkin "the one that started it all";) When Dave and I were engaged we bought a house and I picked up this little pumpkin at Hobby Lobby - it was my very first holiday decoration to buy!
I put out a patchwork pumpkin (Luke's favorite! hahaha) and my most special Thanksgiving decoration and forgot to fill up the apothecary jars. OOOPS!
The turkey was a Homegoods find... isn't it so cute?!?!
The garland I had was too short for the mantle (EEEEK!) so I put a couple of pumpkins up there and called it a day :) Note to self... buy additional garland for next year.
(also wishing now that I had readjusted the wreath after taking down Halloween decor because HELLO lopsided! hahaha)
I made the banner years ago and still love it...
There's not a lot going on in the kitchen...
Some festive napkins and candles and that's pretty much it.
The pumpkin towel is from Anthropologie and I picked up the "Fat pants" towel (which reminded me of the Friends episode where Joey wears the maternity pants) on Zulily (but you can find it on Amazon HERE).
The little tree is where we hang leaves that the kids write down things they're thankful for on. As you can see I've TOTALLY been on that this year :) hahaha
There you go! Y'all know cozy is my jam, so I couldn't pass up a chance to cozy things up and keep the pumpkins out just a little bit longer. Next up - CHRISTMAS!!!
Is Christmas up at your house yet? Do you wait until after Thanksgiving? My plan is to get it all out next weekend. What about you?
Happy Wednesday, Friends!!!

Your house looks great!! your living room is always so cozy! These pictures make me wanna curl in on your couch!
ReplyDeleteOh Andrea! It's gorgeous with the the touches of Thanksgiving. I love it friend :). And my Christmas decor goes up on Friday. Because...you know...I'd keep it up year around if Andrew would let me :).
ReplyDeleteAlways so lovely with all your awesome styling Andrea:) The "fat pants" tea towel cracked me up. Also how could I have missed that Friends episode-I don't recall it at all but am off to youtube first chance I get as I'm sure its hilarious:))
ReplyDeleteLove your cozy house so much!! Great job, friend! That turkey from HG is adorable!!! Xo
ReplyDeleteI love all the Thanksgiving touches! We are going to NYC for Thanksgiving and then 2/3 kids' birthdays are the week after Thanksgiving so I decorate for Thanks, two birthdays and then put Christmas up. As much as I love pumpkins, I can't wait for twinkly lights ; )
ReplyDeleteI love all of it! It's so cozy in your house!! I also wait until Nov 1st to put up Thanksgiving decor since October is for Halloween. We usually decorate Christmas the weekend of Thanksgiving since that's when we go chop our tree down.
ReplyDeleteYou are the queen of warm and cozy decor. I love it! We host Thanksgiving so I don't do Christmas decorations until the day after except for a pencil tree in the dining room with just lights. So fun to decorate your new home, can't wait to see what you do for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAll of the fall pillows are my favorite! A seasonal pillow is one of my go-to ways to decorate. I love all of your little touches and especially that you have your very first pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteYour home is so warm and inviting! You have a real talent for decorating. I would love a post sharing your tips and tricks for holiday decorating.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I would love that, too.
DeleteIt all looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wait until after Thanksgiving, too, because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. But I love Christmas, too!
I've got to get one of those fat pants towels! ha
Love it! Your house looks so cozy, & that 'get your fat pants ready' towel is too perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour home is gorgeous. May I come live there during the holidays please? :)
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful, as always!
ReplyDeleteA few of my neighbors put their Christmas decorations out the day after Halloween (Halloween decorations were put up Labor Day Weekend)! It makes me so sad every time I drive by. As much as I LOVE Christmas, I don't want to miss the joy of Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeletePS- I live in Alaska, where we have snow on the ground and it could easily feel like Christmas....but I still am firm on celebrating Thanksgiving before Christmas.
Where did you get the wire basket that you have the pumpkins and fruit in? Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Homegoods turkey- he's so cute! I put up a touch of fall this past weekend too. The past 2 years I've gone from Halloween straight to Christmas but I didn't want to skip TG this year!
ReplyDeleteI love you cozy home! A great post idea would be how do you store all your holiday decorations?! 😊
ReplyDeleteI love your decor! Where is the wall hanging from that's above the bookshelf in the first picture??? I must have it!
ReplyDeleteYour house and Thanksgiving touches are just gorgeous. I love your seasonal pillows and that turkey from Home Goods is perfect! I think a round decorative table next to the stairs where you have a floor lamp and tree would be beautiful. You could put a lamp (of course!) and a potted plant, picture, candle, etc on it and it would be a fun place for seasonal decor as well.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to seeing your holiday decor and am THRILLED to see you decorated for Thanksgiving. I look forward to getting out my turkeys for November and you've got some really cute ones. I'm not ready to rush the holidays and skip right over to Christmas. Although I'm totally with you on doing all the Christmas shopping EARLY :)
