Another first day is in the books! Can you even believe it?
With rain in the forecast and leaving before 7 am on the schedule we actually snapped these first day pictures on Sunday afternoon. We had a "dry run" to make sure that everyone had uniforms that fit, that their bags were ready and we knew where both of their belts were :)
I'm so glad we did this because it was YUCKY all day yesterday!
Mason was "a little bit nervous" about his first day of Kindergarten. For as boisterous and outgoing as he is at home, he is often reserved and more timid in the classroom.
He can be hesitant to try new things if he doesn't think he's going to do them perfectly the first time, so the prospect of a new teacher and new class has been a bit daunting. But... I'm happy to report that he had a fabulous first day :)
He came home full of stories and spunk and he is excited about the year.
Mason is somethin' special and I can't wait to see him rock Kindergarten!
Luke had his first day of second grade yesterday and ready would be an understatement :) He is BEYOND excited to tackle the challenges this year will bring and is even more pumped about an after school STEM program he's going to be a part of.
He's FINALLY in class with his bestie, Lincoln and I have a feeling those two are going to have a great time together. He had nothing but great things to say about his first day (albeit getting information out of him is AWFUL! hahaha) and I think that's going to be the trend this year.
It seriously feels like yesterday that I was sitting in the Headmaster's office in my initial interview and he was telling me about the salary they were offering and he goes, "Well... maybe one day you'll have kids here, too!" and I was all, "psshhhhh". And here we are... one year away from having THREE KIDS at MCA!!!
I seriously feel like I blinked and we're here.
They were crazy waving at me, but aren't they precious?!?! :)
And then they told me they wanted to pose "cool" and I almost peed in my pants :)
I'm hoping I can get them to recreate this picture their Sophomore and Senior year.
And here's what our actual first day looked like...
Up and out the door by 7! #itsamiracle
Heading down the deck to class...
I snagged a picture of Luke with his teacher!
And Mason was laser-focused on getting into his classroom ;)
Dave was off of work yesterday and he and Griffin got to come for dismissal. Griffin spotted Mason's class!
It's Mason!!!
She even got a hug from Ben :)
Luke and Lincoln!
It was a great first day and we're looking forward to the rest of the week! Bring it on 2016/2017! :)
