Weekend Recap: Reunited Edition

Happy Monday, Friends!  This weekend was a GREAT one!  Friday afternoon my oldest friend and her family came up from Houston for an impromptu visit.  KB and I have been friends since we were 8 and were attached at the hip through elementary and middle school.  Our friendship was pre-Facebook (gasp!) and we kept up with each other after I moved away from North Carolina via some pretty epic letters detailing our middle school triumphs and woes :)  We visited back and forth several times and no matter how long we go in between visits/conversations we always have a way of picking up right where we left off.

Here we are at the beach in probably 1993??

And then this past weekend with girls of our own!!!

This was my first time to meet her precious Libby and sweet husband, Charlie and we had so much fun hanging out Friday and Saturday.

I mean!!!

We were laughing about how we somehow all ended up in Texas and we're looking forward to lots of family get togethers.   Some of my fondest memories are with KB and I hope our kids get to share lots of fond memories together as well :)

They left right before a big storm rolled in and Mason and I took advantage and took a pretty epic nap.  You know... the best kind where you get under the covers and everything?!?!  Amen.

Sunday afternoon we hung out at home after church (read: more naps) and Sunday night Dave and some guys from our Sunday School class went and raced Go-Karts while the kids and I stayed home and did this...

The boys were having a WiiU tournament upstairs, so Griffin, her baby and I had some movie time with our "sleepy bags".

A much needed few days filled with lots of relaxing and lots of time with friends.

Happy Monday, Friends!

  6. I have a friend like that who moved away after 2nd grade and we kept in touch with real letters and visits over the years. I really honestly think we began communicating less once social media came into play.
