Weekend Recap - AG Goes To Prom Edition :)

Happy Monday, Friends!  This weekend was a whirlwind!

Friday started off matchy-matchy :)  Griffin LOVES her bitty baby and loves getting to match with her.

I buy the matching Matilda Jane clothes from a girl in a Matilda Jane facebook group.  If I ever find someone on Etsy who makes them I'll be sure to pass along the info.

After school I swung through HomeGoods.  All I needed was wrapping paper, but you know how that goes.  Somehow this cute doormat made it's way back home with me.  ;)

after Pizza Friday we decided to take an impromptu trip to Sonic for Oreo blasts.  Jack Bauer tagged along and it was a sweet way to end our night.

Mason LOVES to color, but he's been really into having me draw pictures and then coloring them.  Friday night he wanted all of us in soccer gear ready to play.

Saturday morning was an early one - Luke had soccer pictures at 7:45!

I laughed for a solid 10 minutes when I saw Luke's individual picture later that day on Facebook.

This little motley crew has had so much fun this season!

I got the little two up and dressed and we were on our way to the game when Dave called to tell us that the game was actually canceled due to some problems with the turf.  BOO!

We turned around and hung out at home for a bit before heading to GG's dance class...

We were there a few minutes early and I was able to snap this picture of her in the studio.  Day made.

After a stop at Sam's for a pretzel groceries we were back at home to clean and cook and do laundry. So fun :)

We joke that Griffin is the President of the Anna Grace fan club and so she invited us to go see her before she left for Prom.  When we got to her house she was running a little bit behind so we got to play with Sadie...

And Griffin even got to watch AG's hair and makeup getting finished.  She was in AWE!!!  She loves all things girly and felt like such a big girl getting to be a part of the makeup process :)

Anna Grace's boyfriend, Zak, has the sweetest older sister, Abi, who came into town to do Anna Grace's hair and makeup.  I wish I had had an Abi in my life when I went to Prom :)

Abi has the cutest blog called Bloomability where she talks hair and beauty along with some of the ins and outs of life as a college student, big sister and girlfriend. Also, her smile was even cuter in person ;)  Seriously... how is that even possible?!?! :)

Zak's mom is a photographer and she got some GORGEOUS pictures including the one below that is currently in the running for favorite photo ever.  I can't begin to even tell you what it means to have teenagers genuinely love and pour into your younger kids - but I can tell you that I'm not sure GG's eyes have ever been sparklier :)

Zak arrived and GG was there to answer the door. hahaha  She was a little disappointed that the flowers weren't for her, but quickly got over it...

.. when this happened ;)

I. Can't. Even.

I thought my pictures were good until I saw Alisa's :)  but so cute!

Let's all just swoon a minute over the dress!  When I posted the dress line-up on Friday I knew which one she had picked and it was such a hard secret to keep :)  My initial first pick was the blue dress, until I saw her in the floral.  It's sweet and still elegant and totally fits her personality.  Can we all just have a moment where we begrudgingly think back to our Prom dresses and lament why they didn't make dresses like this when we went?

We snapped the pictures with Griffin first and then she and I got out of their hair, but look how cute these two are?!?!

After a quick caffeine run...

... I spent the rest of Saturday night wrapping presents and watching The Holiday.  Am I the only one who BAWLS during this movie?  The scene with the little girls in the tent gets me every time!

Sunday morning shenanigans :)

and then Sunday night we celebrated all three kids with both sides of our family at a Family Fiesta!  I'm going to share those details tomorrow.

I hope y'all had a fantastic weekend!!!

  9. My friend Barb makes THE MOST ADORABLE tumbling suits for little girls, and matching for their American Girl Dolls! I bought one for my niece for Christmas last year, and she was devastated when she finally grew out of it. So cute! She has a lot of sports bras on her site, but she can make sport tanks too, which is what I got my niece! You should check her out at https://www.etsy.com/shop/TooFlippinCutebyBarb .

  11. Ok, you can't post the Got It From My Mama shirt and not tell us where it's from. I need one ASAP! The prom dress is complete perfection on her, makes me want to be a teenager so I can do it all over again. :)

  16. How rude and obtrusive for you to be at Anna Grace's house before Prom. And Griffin answering her door? The worst. Everything is NOT about you or Griffin.

    1. AG wanted pics with Griffin and told us what time to be there. We waited until she was ready, did those first and then left. As far as the door goes, Zak's mom asked her to open it so she could snap a pic (AG was still getting ready). Thanks so much for the concern!

    2. Once again assumptions are made and they are incorrect! I just don't understand!

    3. Anonymous, you are kidding right? Rude? Obtrusive? The worst?
My my you are very quick to jump to some pretty outrageous conclusions here. Why on earth would you get this worked up (without having ANY idea about why they were there) and then actually put that thought to paper? Do you actually know any of these people? I would say that the only really rude, obtrusive (and very judgmental) person I see here is you. Andrea certainly owes you no explanations, but has none the less graciously chosen to do so - with far more tact than I would have shown you. Sometimes the best thing is to just keep your mouth shut and move on.
Love reading your blog Andrea. It's hard to believe people can actually be so rudimentary. I think the pics are adorable and such sweet memory keepsakes for Anna Grace who obviously has a great friendship with your family.

  22. Hello! I just discovered your blog a time ago and I just love to read about your little family! I too am a teacher, and a mom of two, my daughter is the same age as your Griffin. :-) As I read this post, I wondered "How does she store/clean up/organize all those legos?" My little guy will be 6 this month...and I'm dreading legos for gifts! How do you keep all those sets together/organized? Love your blog!!!
