Flamingoflage

We hosted a birthday party for Mason and Griffin at Playstreet Museum last weekend and it was the easiest party EVER!

I picked Playstreet because it was an age appropriate option for both Mason and Griffin and would be fun for both sets of their friends and their siblings.  Playstreet has a reputation for being super clean which I loved as well.

Griffin wanted something pink (duh!) and so we went with flamingos and Mason was adamant that he wanted army guys :)  I sent out individual invitations to each set of friends (camo for Mason, flamingo for Griffin) and that way it didn't feel awkward inviting Mason's friends from school to a party for his little sister they don't know. hahaha

I kept the decor super simple.  I ordered cupcakes from Market Street and popped in army tank toppers I found at Hobby Lobby for Mason's cupcakes and actually printed the flamingos out on photo paper, cut them out and stuck them on top for Griffin's.

I made a couple of little birthday signs to put on the table so people would know where to put the presents...

... and used a few of their toys from home for additional decor.

I ordered the balloons on Amazon and had them blown up at the grocery store down the street.  Easy and inexpensive.

They each invited boys and girls to their party and so I had a mix of flamingo and camo gift bags.

They all had stickers, candy and bubbles and then the flamingo bags had a fun pair of glasses and the camo bags had army guys.

We were there a few minutes early to set up and Luke was checking out the little toy store they had in the front.  I LOVED the sign above the display!

Family pic!

Playstreet in Frisco has a town theme and is seriously the cutest thing ever.  Here are a few of the girls playing in the veterinarian's office...

... and how fun is this light table?!?! The kids could turn the dial and it changed color and then they had these clear colored tiles to put on top.  So cool!

Cutest diner ever!

Mason and his bestie, Jack.

Cupcake and birthday song time :)

GG LOVES her some Jack!

I want to move into this little house ;)

I wanted to get a picture of them after the party.... that went well...

I can't even tell you how much fun this party was.  There was little to no prep on my part and the kids had so much fun!  I'm not sure when/if I'll be able to do a combined party again, so I'm loving that I snuck one more in before they want to do their own things.

  1. Bowen had a blast! He asked me on Monday when he could go back to Griffin's party. I call that a birthday success. :)

  5. When you first mentioned you were going to do a flamingo/army party, I had no idea how you were going to combine the two, but it turned out so cute! The venue is adorable and all the kids look like they are having the best time. Well done, Mama!

    1. That would have been awesome - but Playstreet ha no idea who I am. Hahaha. I paid for our party in full and if I do ever receive things for free I always disclose that in my post.

    3. What a wonderful party for your two little ones - fabulous venue and fun times!
On the other hand, Dear Anonymous - you continue to come here time after time after time to make pathetic feeble attempts to discredit, shame and make defamatory remarks intended to be hurtful and create conflict. Clearly you have an agenda - unfortunately you make yourself look like a raging manic by continuing this form of 'anonymous' harassment. Under the cover of your anonymity, it must make you feel powerful. Quite pathetic really.

    4. Perhaps it isn't so much that someone is trying to discredit or shame, but more express a frustration. It seems as if Andrea's attempts to monetize everything are making some of her readers jaded to her constant promotion of things. While many of us began to read her blog because we could relate to her as a mom and a professional, it has become apparent that she is doing this more now as a means to an income. That's fine if it is her intent, but it comes across as disingenuous to those of us who have been with her from the beginning. Just my two cents. Can we find better ways of expressing this? Sure. We can all stand to be kinder.

    5. Liz,
I'm so sorry that you feel that way about my blog. I try to limit rstyle links to Friday posts and turn down way more promotion opportunities than I accept. I try to collaborate with brands and promote products that are things my kids and I use and love and am so sorry you feel that I'm somehow disingenuous. Thank you so much for reading and for your feedback!

    8. Can I ask how you feel that I'm disingenuous? I disclose when I'm receiving compensation, so what other suggestions do you have?

  13. What a sweet party! I work for a non-profit organization in Pittsburgh called Beverly's Birthdays, and we provide various birthday experiences for children experiencing homelessness. With that experience, it is so heartwarming for me to see parents still providing such sweet birthdays and memories for their children. Those three kiddos are blessed to have you as their kind and caring mama.

    Take care!

  17. My daughter and son have a birthday 10 days apart but there are 3 years between them. I did together parties for them until she was 8 and he 5 but now they want different things. I feel like the whole month of June we are partying! I actually still do the family party together and then I let each of them decide one activity and just a couple friends and we do that for their "friend" party! There is no way I can handle 3 parties in one month, ha!!
