What's Up Wednesday - Ballet Cat Edition

I always seem to miss out on the What's Up Wednesday link up party with Shay, Sheaffer and Mel and so today I'm playing catch up ;)

WHAT WE'RE EATING

Last night I made pasta with meat sauce and Mason refused to eat it.  I sat with him for about 40 minutes before he decided to try it (and - GASP - he ended up liking it!) and while we were sitting there there was really nothing better to do than take pictures of him being pouty.  #drama

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT

WHAT I'M LOVING

All things Gilmore Girls! I'm about to finish the series again on Netflix (I think it's my 5th time through - which I realize is insane) and am SO EXCITED about the new episodes coming out. 

Sidenote: You know the scene where Loralei's singing "I Will Always Love You" at karaoke??? Yeah.  I bawl.  Every time.

I read that the four episodes are going to be Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  EEEK!!!

 

WHAT WE'RE UP TO

Building Lego vehicles and then seeing how many bounces it takes to break them apart on the trampoline.  There are charts.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON

We've finished up Mason's poster for the QU wedding and it turned out so cute!!!

Ignore his, "Moooooooooooom" smile.  His poster was due on Monday and I wasn't sure if I'd get a chance go get a picture of him with it on Friday so he humored me. 

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT

Seeing my little quarterback in his full football uniform on Friday.  He's wearing one of his favorite big boys uniform and he can't wait!

  

WHAT WE'RE READING

We're currently reading Ballet Cat!

Disney-Hyperion sent us copies of The Totally Secret Secret and Dance! Dance! Underpants! as well as the plush Ballet Cat and Luke has been reading them to Griffin on the daily :)

 The illustrations are whimsical and fun and the storylines are cute - friendship, compromise and being confident. They're easy to read and longer than a typical picture book.

The Totally Secret Secret

Ballet Cat and Sparkles the Pony are trying to decide what to play today. Nothing that Sparkles suggests--making crafts, playing checkers, and selling lemonade--goes well with the leaping, spinning, and twirling that Ballet Cat likes to do. When Sparkles's leaps, spins, and twirls seem halfhearted, Ballet Cat asks him what's wrong. Sparkles doesn't want to say. He has a secret that Ballet Cat won't want to hear. What Sparkles doesn't know is that Ballet Cat has a secret of her own, a totally secret secret. Once their secrets are shared, will their friendship end, or be stronger than ever?

Dance! Dance! Underpants!

Ballet Cat is getting her friend Butter Bear ready for her big ballet debut. "Leap, Butter Bear, leap!" Ballet Cat prompts. But Butter Bear would prefer to just point her toe. When Ballet Cat keeps pushing, Butter Bear gets hungry, then thirsty, then sleepy . . . The bottom line is that Butter Bear would rather do almost anything to avoid making a big leap. Why? Because her bottom is covered in silly underpants! This second entry in the Ballet Cat series will have beginning readers rolling on the floor with laughter.

Like pretty much everyone else, I can't get enough of Adele right now. Specifically this song...

WHAT WE'RE WEARING

Griffin wore this super cute "vintage MJ" outfit to dinner on Monday night.  (Ignore the baby gate in the background... we were passing it along to some friends and were loading it in the car. hahaha)

  

And while Griffin rocked some mixed prints, I sported this cute poncho and cords (they're olive, not black like the picture would suggest).

And when I have a mountain of laundry and an equally large mountain of grading, I've been keeping it comfy in the Janelle hoodie from Evys Tree.

WHAT WE'RE UP TO THIS WEEKEND

Dance, bitty ball and Luke's first soccer game this Spring!  Can't wait to watch another season of Lil' Stang Soccer (and yes, this season we have plans just to watch... no coaching around here! hahaha)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

Spring Break, baby!  Lots of Spring cleaning, lots of getting organized, lots of day trips and LOTS and LOTS of family time!  #bringit

WHAT ELSE IS NEW
