Show and Tell Tuesday - Momfessionals Moments

Happy Tuesday, friends!  We had the BEST day as a family yesterday and I can, thankfully, say that I was headache free all day long.  Phew!  Sometimes my migraines can linger, and so this was a huge blessing.

A lot of days I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing.  I do the best I can, pour my heart and soul into my kids, but sometimes I lay in bed and wonder if it's enough.  I wonder if me losing my temper before bedtime is going to be what they remember instead of the great day we had or if letting the boys watch Ninja Turtles is going to spur violent outbursts as pre-teens :)  (I jest, but seriously! hahaha)

I try to be transparent and honest about motherhood because we're all in the same messy, crazy, laundry-filled boat.  Parenting isn't always pretty and it's comforting for me to know that there are other moms who hide cookies from their kids and take an extra lap (or three) around the neighborhood after school to avoid the witching hour that happens when you walk in the door.

So, here are today's confessions...

Maternity Tanks
I'm still wearing maternity tanks and I haven't been pregnant in 3 years.
I found these AMAZING spandexy, super long tanks when I was pregnant with Griffin and I wear them almost every day.  I think I paid less than $5 each and I love them with all my heart.  They're soft, stretchy and the most comfortable tank ever.

Missing Lollipop
Two years ago while we were trick-or-treating Mason got upset because he couldn't find his BlowPop anywhere.  We searched and searched, brought out the flashlight and everything.  I let him open a new one and we moved on.  When we got home and I was putting all the kids in the tub, I looked in the mirror and found the blow pop - tangled and stuck in my hair.

Fend for Yourself
When I was pregnant with Griffin, I remember a Saturday morning when Dave had to go into work early which left me (and my insane morning sickness) to feed the boys breakfast.  I made it to the pantry and pulled out a box of goldfish, then got hit with some crazy waves of nausea.  I promptly booked it to the couch and proceeded to feed them goldfish straight from the box as their breakfast while I attempted to not puke my guts out all over the family room.

Silent Night
We had the Fisher Price nativity toy for at least two years before my kids saw it at a friends house and realized that it played music.... we never put batteries in it to avoid the constant tunes.

We're Out
I MAY have told the kids that we're out of English Muffins in the morning and then snuck one (toasted with peanut butter) out to the car and eaten it on the way to school while they watched a movie.

I'm Just Going To Leave This Right Here...

I hope that you find some comfort in my confessions today - now time to share yours!

Also - you can read my confessions from last time HERE.

  14. I love this series, makes me feel more normal that other ladies are doing the same things I am. I have totally done the eating thing, but with gummies. I'll tell them they can't have anything, then go behind their back and eat them myself :)

  17. I cant wait to read through these. It's a tough day at work, so I'm looking forward to some good laughs. I don't blog, so here's one I just HAVE to share.

My three-year old daughter is obsessed with boobs. She can't wait until she is a grown up and she can have boobs. She also fights me with her car seat almost every morning. So one morning, I was buckling her in and she was complaining that her chest clip was too high (it wasn't). I'm not sure where it came from, but without even thinking about it, I said, "Well, if you don't keep your buckle up high, you'll never get boobies, so leave it alone." I'm SO SURE she went to school and told everyone all about it. HA!

And I won't be passing that information on to my children :) They like it just fine without it :)
