Weekend Recap

Our weekend kicked off with a great night watching Luke perform in the Life School Musical at our church. He practiced every day from 9-12 all last week and was so excited to show us what he had been working on .

Mason fell asleep on the way home from school that afternoon and was STILL asleep when we left at 6:15 so he stayed at home with our babysitter, but we picked Gibi up and met Haha there.

So stinkin' BIG!

You can spot Luke yawning on the far right :)  In addition to music camp in the morning he did VBS from 6-9 Monday through Thursday. hahaha

Meanwhile, back at home...

McKinley sent me this picture of her and Mason and I about DIED laughing :)  I love that he got to spend some sweet time with her after Griffin went to bed.  Mason LOVES McKinley!!!

Me, my sweet boy, and an awkward wave...

When I posted the above picture on my Instagram, I got TONS of y'all wanting to know where my dress was from.  It's by Free People and it's sold out at Macy's (where I bought mine), but it's currently in stock in all sizes HERE.  I'm wearing the XS.

Saturday morning we all slept in and then Dave took the kids to Home Depot to work on the Kids Workshop project.

GG was INTO it!

We spent the rest of the afternoon putting away laundry, having rest time and playing games and we finished the night off with a movie and a sink bath for Griffin.  I'm going to need a big farmhouse sink STAT because the day she doesn't fit in here anymore is going to be a rough day in our house.

So long!  It curls up so quick once she's out.

It's a rough life this girl leads!

Sunday we headed to church and GG was the only one semi-interested in a picture.  #illtakewhaticanget

Sunday afternoon I was loading up my bags and mirror to take with my to my Matilda Jane trunk show and decided it was the perfect time to snap a picture because you ALL need this dress :)

It's light and airy and looks great as a tunic with skinny jeans or leggings for Fall.  The fabric is GORGEOUS!!!

Griffin and I hung out at the club playing with clothes while the boys hung out in the grille and hit tennis balls.

After dinner the boys went and saw The Minions Movie with Dave and my Dad and Griffin and I (and a big bowl of cheerios) crashed for the night at home.

Today and tomorrow are our last official days of summer and we have no plans except to relax and enjoy.

Tomorrow is Show and Tell Tuesday and we're going to be sharing our Back to School traditions!  I can't want to see how you all make going back to school a fun time at your house :)

Happy Monday, friends!!!

  4. What time do you usually eat dinner at your house? And what time does your kiddos go to bed? It feels like after dinner and before bed is a big mess of things at my house lol. Love your blog!

    1. In the summer we're pretty flexible since we're accommodating night swims, late dinners, movie nights, etc. but during the school year our routine is usually dinner around 5:30 followed by baths and homework and then Griffin is in bed by 7 and the boys by 8. Hope that helps!!!

  6. I love watching children's choir/performances - so cute! That dress is too cute - but am I seeing strings in the photo? Maybe it's just something in the picture, but trying to figure out of the hem frays?

    1. It's okay... I'm a bit obsessed with it too :) Alone in the summer, with leggings in the fall, with flare jeans and a jacket in winter... Free People never disappoints :) And I agree!!! It's always nice to kind of recap it before jumping into a new week. Thanks so much for reading!

  9. Ah I love both of the free people dresses [white and colored tunic]! Also love your weekend, you'll never regret putting your kids through vbs and keeping them busy like that. My mom was constantly doing that with me growing up and I am so thankful.

    1. It's a workout getting everyone scheduled and where they need to be when they need to be there, but seeing how much fun they have, how much they learn and how great the relationships that they build are it's definitely worth it. Thanks so much, Lindsay!

  11. Will you share your back to school routine? Do you do a lot to get ready the night before? I have the best of intentions to do this, but usually end up crashing and going to sleep only to wake up to a whole list of things to do the next morning!

  12. Your blog is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE and the first thing I read every week day morning! Love love love it! I also love you weekend recaps. Your family is adorable and G's hair looks almost identical to my little boys, I'm a sucker for curls :) Have a great week!
