Friday Favorites

My Favorites list is going to be short and sweet today.  We just finished up our first full day in Colorado and I am equal parts exhausted and absolutely in love :)  The weather reminds me so much of summers spent in Canada and being outside and not feeling like we're on the surface of the sun has been such a welcome relief from the Texas heat (albeit our Dallas summer has been super mild so far).

Up first I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who supported Ashleigh through purchasing a shirt and donating to research for Metastatic, Triple Negative and Inflammatory breast cancer.  Over 600 shirts were sold and we raised $12,282.90 !!!  AMAZING!!!!  Seeing the final total was for sure a FAVORITE moment from the week.

Next up, another FAVORITE moment was a random happening, but it made mama heart proud.  We were in Vail today and were playing on a playground and Luke pushed Griffin on the swing for a solid twenty minutes.  I would attempt to take over the pushing duties and Griffin would say, "NO! YUKE DO IT!" and he continually obliged.  There were WAY more fun things to do instead of pushing his sister and I was so proud of how sweet and kind he was to his baby sister.

There were a couple of kids crossing the creek at this shallow point and Luke got right into the water and straight across.  Mason dipped his toes in the freezing stream and panic crossed his little face.  He desperately wanted to do what the big kids were doing, but couldn't quite make himself do it.  So... I pulled off my shoes and he and I did it together.  The water was FREEZING and seeing him light up when we got to the other side was a total FAVORITE.  Also, hearing him occasionally throughout the rest of the day brag to Luke or Dave about how he and mommy had walked across "the river" together was super sweet.

This is what our town home backs up to - PURE GORGEOUS!  Getting to experience all of this with our family has been a huge blessing.  Lots of FAVORITE memories are being made.

And last, Luke has been putting his GoPro to good use and so far the underwater pictures are my FAVORITE.  He hasn't played around a lot with video yet, but I'm sure once he does I'll love those even more.

   Happy Friday, Friends!!!

  5. We went to Colorado for summer vacation in 2013 and stayed in Winter Park and Georgetown. It was so beautiful and relaxing there. And the summer climate was definitely better than it was in Mississippi during the summer. Love the picture of Mason under water!

  13. Hi Andrea,
What Go Pro does Luke have? Would you recommend the same model? We want to get our 10 year old a Go Pro for Christmas and since I take your advice all the time by the things you post on your blog-I thought I would get your opinion first!
