Fashionably Late

Since I do Recipe Club on the last Wednesday of every month, I've missed out on the opportunity to link up with some of my favorite girls for What's Up Wednesday.  So today I'm showing up tardy for the party, or maybe I could say I'm just super early for next month.

- WHAT WE'RE EATING -

This week we've been eating Chicken Spaghetti.  Not typical summer fare, but sometimes you just need some comfort food.  I omit the green peppers and my kids gobble this up.  With a big salad it's one of my favorite dinners.

- WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT -

Summers past!  That DANG Facebook app thing that tells you "what happened on this day" in years past is KILLING me!  I have a total love/hate relationship with it.  Why do babies have to grow up so fast?!?!?!

- WHAT I'M LOVING -

I've been loving some one-on-one time with my best girl while the boys are at VBS this week.
We've been running lots of errands and holding hands (errr.... I hold her wrist, she screeches WALK and tries to pull away, repeat).

We've been snuggling and trying on headbands way too late in the morning.

And yesterday she and I hit up Anthropologie and she walked around like she owned the place.

The sweet sales clerk gave her her own bag and she immediately popped Baby into the bag and strutted off toward the door.

WALK, MOMMY!!! ;)

- WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO -

This week has been jam packed with VBS, errands and swimming lessons in the afternoon.  We've been loving every minute of it, but sweating our hineys off at the same time as it's been 95+ degrees every day.  ICK.

- WHAT I'M DREADING -

The heat.  I'm a total whiner about it and I am not looking forward to feeling sweaty for the next three months. ;)

- WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT -

I've been working with Ashleigh on something AMAZING and near and dear to her heart and I can't wait to tell everyone about it (hopefully) next week.  It's going to be epic!

- WHAT I'M WATCHING -

Y'all.  Where has Mad Men been all my life?!?!  I started it a couple of weeks ago (maybe last week?) and I am currently on season 6.  Yes, it's that awesome.  I'm watching it on Netflix and I highly recommend it.

- WHAT I'M LISTENING TO -

Honestly?  I'm listening to Sofia The Firsts Holiday in Enchancia play on the DVD player in my van as I cart my children around :)

- WHAT I'M WEARING -

I broke down and bought this jumpsuit from Anthropologie yesterday and LOVE it!  I have plans to wear it to dinner on Thursday night and will share a pic then.  But trust me, it's fabulous.

- WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND -

I'm hosting a baby shower (eeeek!) so fun!!!  And am taking the boys to see Chuggington Live!  We'll top it off with dinner with friends and hopefully some pool time.  Can't wait!

- WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH -

We rented a place in Vail, Colorado and we have plans to road trip there and do nothing except enjoy time as a family in the cool mountain air.

I'm so glad that I made it to the party, even if I was fashionably late.

Tomorrow I'm so excited to show y'all a super fun "theme day" I did with the kids last week.
Get excited!

    2. Sarah, there is also a new feature on Facebook itself that allows you to do this. It's not a different app. It just show memories within Facebook for years past. Just go to www.facebook.com/onthisday and once you are logged in under Facebook there you just turn on your notifications for it. Timehop is great too for a app that shows all past posts for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

  10. I love these type of posts, Several items... Love that jumpsuit - as others commented, totally you. I also dread the summer heat - major heat wimp here, and we have no humidity. Give me a day under 75 degrees. How is Ashleigh - I haven't seen any updated blog posts unless I am missing something. Keeping her and her family and "community" in prayers.

  12. You are going to love Vail! My parents have a timeshare there and our family usually goes with them every other summer. It is amazing! You will love the cooler temperatures.

  13. While your staying in Vail drive down to Frisco, rent bikes (they have carriage hitches too for the littlies and bike around to Breckenridge. Catch the Gondola up to Peak 9 and they have an awesome FREE summer activity park set-up including a snow patch. There are flying fox swings, sleds and gold-panning. We went last summer and it was so much fun, and Breckenridge always reminds me of the Gilmore Girls town!
