Happy Monday, Friends!!!
Before I can go any further, I feel it needs to be noted that it's snowing in Texas as I'm typing this.
That's right, people. In November. It's crazy.
And this pretty much sums up snow in Texas...
I have to admit, I wouldn't hate a Snow Day :) We have lots of bread and milk and would be a-ok with a day of snuggles and jammies.
Friday evening (when the weekend officially starts, right??) we kicked off the weekend by playing with coasters on the tree skirt. Because, fun! hahaha
The rest of Friday night I spent grading papers. Literally. Hours and hours. But it's done, and all the teachers out there know how good that feels! 100% caught up! AMEN!
I'm still resisting putting up the Christmas decorations (I'm hoping to hold out until the weekend!), but resistance against Christmas jammies was FUTILE!!!
(PS - the jammies are from Bella Creative Expressions Boutique and the bow is Ruby Blue)
Dave went in to work (boo!) and we got dressed and ready for some serious playing. Like, trash the house playing. Get every toy we own out playing. It was epic :)
The boys spent HOURS doing this and while we did have one pillow "fatality", we had no human injuries and since they're still talking about it with nostalgia I'm going to consider that a win. ;)
While all this wild and craziness was happening I was in my blardigan and Uggs - which you'll find me in from now until May. Literally.
Two things... about the blardigan... I scoffed at the price and thought it was RIDICULOUS for months and months and months. Then one day I decided to try it out for myself and y'all.... I've worn it every day since. It's what I throw on over my pjs in the mornings and it's what I reach for every day when I get home from school. On a "cost per wear" basis - it's probably the least expensive thing I own. ANNNNNND about the Uggs... I wear like a 6.5 or 7 and these are a "Big Kid size 4". Kids sizes go up to a 6 (so I'm assuming the equivalent of a women's 8.5????), are about $20 cheaper and come in fun colors. Win! Win!
Later in the afternoon, Dave was able to take a break and take Luke to his friends birthday party.
While they were living it up at Splitsville, the rest of us were doing this at home...
While working on Christmas cards and entering grades :)
Saturday night we played "restaurant"...
... which turned into "chase"...
... and then back into restaurant. These two are REALLY starting to play with each other and I LOOOOVE it!!!
Sunday morning I attempted a pic and got this...
hahaha. I'll take what I can get :)
And how PRESH did GG look???
I had my hands FULL when we got to church and she was pretty persistent about wanting me to hold her. Her response??? This...
She just sat there and looked at me like, "mom... pick me UP!!!" Finally I went back and held her hand and walked her to class. Sweet girl!
After church we swung through the country club to say "Hey" to Dave and pick up grilled cheese sandwiches and soup :) Then it was home and time for a quick nap before Griffin and I headed to Presley's birthday party!
It was the cutest little "Babydoll Picnic" (that got moved indoors because SNOW!!!), but Griffin was waaaaaaaaaay more interested in the real baby :)
Love this sweet birthday girl!!!
I'm not sure what is happening here.... but both of these girls are SPITFIRES, so I'm not sure who won :)
G was KILLING IT in her outfit :)
Get it, girl!!! hahaha
PS - the vest in the pics above is THIS ONE from Old Navy. It's awesome!!!
We ended the weekend with some sweet time as a family and lots of working for me. LAST - I posted a few pics of me in some blanket scarves this weekend on IG and y'all pretty much INSISTED I do a tutorial.... soooo............ Wednesdays post will be all about the blanket scarf. How's that for customer service!

Your blog is adorable. Where do you get your sweet necklaces for G?
ReplyDeletethanks! I get them online - typically from Lola and Darla on Etsy or Sprinklings :)
DeleteI ordered that exact blanket scarf and I kind of feel like I'm suffocating in it. Looking forward to Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteI MAY end up doing a video - Lord, help me :) hahaha
DeleteWoohoo!!! It's snowing!!!! Eeks! And listen, nothing is cuter than G in that red sprakly headband!!
ReplyDeleteSNOW!!!!!! You could probably hear Mason screaming "IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!" all the way from my house this morning - the only person more excited than me, was him :)
DeleteI would enjoy being shown what to do with a blanket scarf....it seems so big...so much.....I kind of feel like I look like I have an actual blanket around my neck....which in my mind does NOT mean cute!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Hopefully I can explain it well on Wednesday! :)
DeleteSounds like a great weekend!! Thank you so much for coming to play with us at P's party! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe'll play with P anytime!!! Thanks for having us!
DeleteI'm super jealous about the snow. That's it!! (Oh and all the pics of the kiddos are fab!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a "light dusting", but still got everyone all "snow crazy" hahaha
DeleteOMG it was snowing here in SOUTH CAROLINA last week so I for sure feel your pain! your kiddos are adorable as always. Happy Monday! :)
ReplyDeleteCRAZY!!! I have a feeling it won't be the last time we see snow this winter!
DeleteIt cracks me up that G just plopped herself down in the middle of the hallway until you got her. She's adorable!
ReplyDeleteShe's a hot little mess :)
DeleteI have a cardigan and scarf post on Friday...and a 2 of them are blanket scarves...I was going to do a tutorial (and I still might if my sickly little guy gets better, but maybe I'll just let you handle it and link to it. :)
ReplyDeletehahaha It's an art form - I'm thinking it may actualyl be my spiritual gift :)
DeleteLooks like a fun weekend. The selfie of you & G is the best! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSo excited about the blanket scarf tutorial!!
ReplyDeleteEEEK! Hoping I can explain it well!
DeleteI just love reading your posts. They are just so happy and funny and make me smil! Is it totally weird that we are having family pictures soon and all I can think is, "what would Andrea put her kids in?". Ha!! Seriously, you are the queen of layers and textures and color! So far I have both my girls in skinny jeans and their fake uggs with fur vests (Alivia's is leopard and Ashlyn's is the old navy one like Griffin's). Is it totally ridiculous to do fur for pictures?! Totally overthinking here! :)
ReplyDeleteI think fur is AWESOME.... but I'd have to see the two vests together... is there a way that maybe only one girl could wear a vest??? Send me a pic of your outfits!!!
DeleteLove that you let the kids "trash the house"....sucks to clean up but it's always so much fun and they will remember it forever! I bought that furry vest for my Carly and I agree..love it. I'm still holding out on the blardigan....not sure why when I just know I would love it! And thanks for the tip on the uggs!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I draw the line at being destructive, but there's nothing wrong with a little (or big!) mess every once in a while :) And BUY THE BLARDIGAN!!! TRUST ME!!!
DeleteOmg. Why did I wait a year to buy the blardigan. Seriously wore it all weekend and thought about reaching for it this morning... But wanted to give it a break ;) That GG is getting cuter and cuter! Can't wait for a blanket scarf tutorial!! Have a happy and cozy Monday!
ReplyDeleteRight?!?! I get sad on days when mine goes in the laundry.... and have been known to do a load JUST for the blardigan :)
DeleteThe snow they were calling for here in Ohio came over night and hasn't stopped. That video is perfect for here too! I swear half of our town skipped church yesterday to get their groceries before it all hit. lol! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweet photos of the kiddos playing together. So makes me want to have another! I need my hubby to come around still to that idea :)
Ok, where is Mason's sweater and jeans from in the church photo? I love it! It looks perfect for our upcoming family photos :)
There was literally like 2 loaves of bread last night at Kroger! So funny. ;) And yes... you totally need another!
DeleteHis jeans are Old NAvy... but they were Luke's so they're OLD and the cardi is from Janie and Jack (via consignment)
Hold the phone! That news about wearing Girls sizes in Uggs is awesome! On my Christmas list now!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?!?!?! And you'll DIE!!! I found mine at a local kids consignment store.... for under $20! BRAND NEW!!!
DeleteWhat a great weekend. I can't believe it's snowing there! Crazy! Can't wait for Wednesday post, seriously how do you find time to do everything?! Do you actually sleep? Cause I'm thinking no.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Typically I sleep :)
DeleteReading your weekend recap just makes my heart so happy!!! I heart your family, y'all are so darn cute!!! Happy Monday!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAs a newish Texan, the snow thing here kills me. It's been all folks are talking about. I lived in Ohio for 30 years and really, this isn't snow. But it's still fun to think of it snowing in Texas in November.
ReplyDeleteThat video...dying over here

ReplyDeleteI just loved your video! I never would've tied a blanket scarf like that but it makes perfect sense! I hope I win so I can try it out for myself :)
