Hey, friends! First of all - thank you for all of your sweet words about my "tutorial" video yesterday. I'm going to assume that y'all meant all of the nice things you said and weren't just saying them to try and win the awesome scarf ;)
Yesterday was awesome. Not going to lie.
On Tuesday night we ate dinner at Chipotle, and I managed to take one classic picture before my phone battery died. #brotherlylove
At dinner, Griffin had ZERO appetite, but I thought maybe she just wasn't a fan of the food. She was acting fine and was all smiles - but when we got home she LOST IT all over our kitchen floor. I put her to bed and about 30 minutes later it happened again. Twice. Then in the bathtub as we were cleaning her up. And then twice more after her bath. Poor baby!
Thankfully, she made it through the night with no more issues, but I decided to stay home with her just in case. I hate the thought of any of my kiddos not being at home if they don't feel good and definitely didn't want her to be around the other kids if she was still sick.
... snuggling/napping...
... and watching some Sofia.
After her pedi, we folded some laundry and then she colored and ate for the first time since lunch on Tuesday.
She watched some Frozen (while I sat close by with old towels just in case the cereal bar decided not to sit well with her)...
... and munched on some dry lucky charms (we were out of Cheerios - #momfail)
She took a LOOOOONG nap and then I had to wake her up to go pick up Mason. A girl after my own heart she insisted on bringing a pink calculator. Sidenote - we also forgot shoes. But check out those pink piggies!!!
I accomplished virtually nothing today outside of the few hours she napped and it was glorious. She laid on me and napped in the morning and I didn't feel bad or guilty for not trying to lay her in her crib. There was no multi-tasking, answering emails while she sat with me or cleaning while she played. We didn't run an errand, I didn't change out of my sweats and I loved every second of it. I HATE that she didn't feel good the night before, but LOVE that she and I got the special day together. I feel like I kind of hit the "pause" button for a day and it was glorious :)
Tomorrow is Friday Favorites - so get those posts ready, ladies!!! And it's going to be EXTRA fun because Erika, Narci and I have something AWESOME up our sleeves for y'all! Get excited!
I love when we get sweet time with our babies! Life gets so crazy at times that its nice when those days come so we can pause and focus on them! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she enjoyed all the one on one time too! Glad sweet girl got her sparkle back! Ha!
ReplyDeletePoor lil girl!! I absolutely HATE when my kids are sick. I just wanted to say that I love & admire that you took the day off to stay home w/ G. I know SOO many moms who would just ship their kids off to daycare or have a sitter come to their house just so they wouldn't miss a day of work (heaven forbid). So hat's off to you for ALWAYS being a wonderful mama :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have come over yesterday and painted my nails and watched Frozen with you girls. I would have loved that :). XO
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad griffin is feeling better. And I hate when our babies are sick, but not gonna lie there is nothing better than those cuddles and snuggles. Happy Thursday!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad little miss Griffin has gotten her sparkle back! Sick kiddos is no fun, but it sounds like a relaxing day of cuddles was the best medicine for both you and your girl.

Sweet girl! I am glad she is all better and that you had a good day together! ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeletePoor G! So happy she is feeling better. When Carter has a stomach bug, we always have a bowl lined with a grocery bag closet by. :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy she is back to feeling like her precious little self! Happy Thursday friend! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my GOSH her little toes!!!! That one made my week!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my girls are sick, it is snuggle time. Now that I have a few who are older, I still sit with them on the couch or in my bed and watch movies and nap.... So happy she is better :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to have a "day off" and not do a dang thing!? Glad baby girl is feeling better. Her sweet face is so precious!
ReplyDeleteGlad she is feeling better! Sometimes a sick day and some one on one time is just what moms need too. Love the shot you took from above with the lucky charms...cute perspective!
ReplyDeleteI am the same as you. I hate when my kids are sick, but am equally as thankful for those extra sweet snuggles.
ReplyDeleteBoooo for sickies! Hope she's feeling better! We have a little one with SUPER curly hair in the summer, super straight hair in the winter. It's hilarious! He needs a trim now because it's so long and straight.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is feeling better! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad she is feeling better, but one on one time is great, especially since she was extra cuddly and feeling a bit better. Nothing worse then sick kids. Knock on wood, I haven't had to experience the throw up kind of sick yet...almost 4 years and counting...and now that I've said that, pretty sure I just jinxed myself.
ReplyDeletePoor GG! Glad she seems to be feeling better and that you were able to stay home with her :) It is so tough for us moms to press that pause button. I am taking a few days off throughout December to hang out with my little guy and just enjoy the day. I am going to do my best not to focus on laundry or chores. Just playing, maybe attempting to bake cookies together, and take a fun drive somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteso glad she is on the mend. what a great way to spend the day, even if it started with a sick baby. love those snuggles!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your little lady is feeling better! Also wanted to check in on my Freshly Picked win - haven't heard/received anything!
ReplyDeleteI love her little pink toe nails. So cute! I'm glad she's feeling better.
ReplyDeleteUgh we have both had sick babies this week! I am with you though, I have loved the extra cuddle time so much. It is definitely a reminder to slow down and think about what matters most! Glad she is feeling better, love love her Ruby wrap!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an awesome note about your polite little man! We have Christmas decor going up this weekend, too. It's my favorite time of the year!
