Weekend Wrap - I take fashion tips from Mario Lopez Edition :)

Friday morning started off with an 8 a.m. pep rally.  Yes ma'am.  8 a.m.
Pep. Rally.
Drumline, cheering, all of it :)  My trusty assistant came through and by 8:30 I was ready to teach six classes . Amen.

Friday afternoon we broke out all of our tents and tunnels.  Sister was pumped.

After dinner Mason wanted to fill all these cups with soapy water from the sink.  He has DEFINITE ideas about what he wants to do and when it involves soap and water I typically agree.

This girl was cracking me up on Friday night.  She KNOWS that she is not supposed to climb up on the fireplace.... so as soon as I'm not looking she does it anyway.  Then just sits there and stares at me until I notice.  #sass #andahalf
Sidenote: a lot of people on IG commented on how they thought she looked JUST like Mason in this pic.... I don't see it at all!  So funny :)

Saturday morning we got up, fed, dressed and the kids got ready to go to the library with Dave.  I'm pretty sure she was thinking, "Oh!  Brand new outfit, mom???  Let me just rub my hiney up against your dirty tire, k???" :) hahaha

also - I'm not sure what this pose is about - but it CRACKS me up!!! hahaha

I think this might be my favorite outfit.  Ever.  I love love love it!
(In case you're curious - the pants are HERE and the top is HERE and I'll have a show open again on October 1st!  I think that THIS SHIRT would be adorable layered underneath for cooler weather).

On Saturday mornings Dave will often take the kids to Home Depot or the Library while I do some of the "heavier" cleaning.  I do little bits every day - but it is so much easier to mop the floors without 4 extra pairs of feet running around :)  Plus - they get some great three-on-one time with Dave!

Apparently GG was in HEAVEN at the library - my kind of girl :)

I mean... :)

Saturday afternoon my parents dog, Scooter, came to hang with us.  My mom is in Canada for a couple of weeks and my Dad was gone for the weekend - so we added him in to the mix.  GG LOOOOOOOVES her some Scooter and pretty much just follows him around.
Monkey see.  Monkey do.

After lunch the boys played outside and when I looked out there - poor Scooter Pooter was covered in sand.  Apparently they were playing a game which involved pouring copious amounts of sand and water on this sweet little guy.  I scooped him up and brought him inside for a thorough shampooing.

.... and a towel dry.  I texted my dad and told him that I wasn't sure if he never wanted to leave or never wanted to come back.  It was a 50/50 kind of situation. :)

I got him all settled in...

... and then I set out to make zucchini bread.  Except that I realized my zucchinis were in fact cucumbers.  OOOPS!   I ended up making chocolate chip pumpkin bread instead and Dave rescued me and picked up and brought home a few zucchinis in between weddings at the club.  Crisis averted.

Fall can officially begin now!

Saturday night I saw this and I almost peed my pants....

... then I realized that it was for England and not here.  WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!  January can't come fast enough!!!

Also - while I was getting dinner ready I ran do the laundry room to toss some dish towels in the washer and came back to this...

I'm pretty sure I was gone about 4 seconds.

Sunday morning I woke up with a migraine (blah!), Dave hadn't gotten home until 2:00 a.m. (thank you, late wedding!) and Mason and G were having some tummy trouble so we decided to play it safe and just hung out at home for the morning . I attempted to play catch up on some Slightly ASkew projects and was watching the Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story and wasn't sure whether to be excited or mortified that AC Slater was wearing my EXACT same denim vest.  Seriously.  I'm pretty sure it's my exact one. hahaha

Sunday afternoon G sported some major sparkle :)

And Mason crashed before 6:00.  Seriously.  I attempted to wake him up for dinner - but he was GONE.  Sweet boy :)

It was a low key, hang around the house kind of weekend - perfect!!! This week is a four-day work week for me (we have State Fair Day on Friday) and I have big plans to get my Halloween decorations out! YAY!!!

Happy Monday, Friends!!!

PS!!! I was just looking on Zulily and Holy Random, Batman!  The green bracelet y'all ask about often is on there for $8.99!!!  Click HERE to get to Zulily and then search for "Beaded Soul".  You're welcome :)

  10. Happy Monday Andrea!! Hope the migraine is gone - those are horrid especially on weekends. My sister once confused leftover sautéed zucchini for cucumber salad. Quite the surprise when she put ate it. I couldn't stop laughing. Have a great day and week.

  11. I bought the same MJ outfit for my daughter but was still debating on if I liked the pants with the top. When I saw it on your daughter on instagram I loved it and knew it was a winner :) My daughter wore it to church yesterday and I think it is going to be one of my favorites too. Always love your blog! Thanks for sharing - Ginger

  14. cute dog but why would you wash him in your kitchen sink and not the bath tub? not sure that you will post this but i know you make food for friends and that would gross me out to know you are washing a dog in your kitchen sink.

    1. So, I can't tell whether you're being serious or sarcastic - but I'm going to assume serious. Honestly - I didn't even really think about it. He was covered in sand, I rinsed him off, shampooed him up and rinsed him again. Am I the only one who doesn't think that's weird? If it makes you feel better - I do clean my sink often. Are you concerned about germs? I don't get it. It's a stainless steel sink... I guess next time you're at my house you don't have to eat what I cooked :)

    2. also - not sure how you normally cook, but I typically don't prepare food inside my sink.

    3. BOOM!
Ms. Anonymous judgmental needs to check herself ;)

    4. I bathe my 8 pound dog in my sink every month. So much easier than the tub and one of the perks of having a small dog. I don't understand why people have to comment every thought that pops into their heads.

    5. I would be willing to bet that raw meat and dirty dishes are a lot worse than a sandy dog! That is what sinks are for...washing things that are dirty! Keep your head up, Andrea! You are such a blessing to so many of us readers!

    6. LOL!! "also - not sure how you normally cook, but I typically don't prepare food inside my sink" best comeback ever! I think you genuinely ruined that persons day for washing a dog in the sink, the horror!

  15. Andrea, I am a germaphobe and I think it's perfectly fine to wash a dog in the sink. Unless you're doing something crazy like rubbing lettuce leaves on the sink interior, who cares?? Sinks are filled with bacteria from dirty hands and raw meat. Last time I checked dog shampoo isn't lethal. :)

  16. Nothing weird about washing your pup in the sink! I wash my 8 pound Maltese in the kitchen sink all the time. She's tiny and it's easier to do in the sink vs in the overwhelmingly large tub. My 15 pound pup gets washed in the tub due to his larger size.

  17. I'm dying laughing about you taking fashion tops from Mario Lopez! I love how you don't take yourself so seriously. Your blog is my favorite read off the day. I always look forward to it. As for washing the dog in the sink, I do not understand why that is a big deal! I have a relative that won't pour the water from the bucket she scrubs her kitchen floor with down her sink. It's funny what different people think is ok. I also wash out my paint brushes in the kitchen sink. Is that wrong? I do scrub the sink after. It's a sink. It's for washing things lol! Keep on being you and sharing it all with us!!
