Words I Thought I'd Never Say (and a giveaway!!!)

I'm about to type five words that I never thought I'd say.  Ever.  Ever Ever.  Never ever ever.

I love my denim vest.

It's true.  I'm not ashamed.

Do I look like I belong in an Eighties rock band?  Maybe.

Do I care? Nope.  :)

I had been pondering a denim vest for a long time - my love affair with my denim jacket (which is ON SALE and in stock AND ships for FREE!!!) runs DEEP - but my only dilemma in the summer is that it can be hot.  The denim vest seemed like the perfect solution and so far it hasn't disappointed.  I LOVE me a maxi dress and I love wearing them to school (hello, easy outfit!), but since I'm not sure strapless is appropriate attire to teach algebraic equations in, I always layer with a cardigan or denim jacket.  It's approximately 6000 degrees when I start back to school in August, so this will be PERFECT over a maxi!

This black maxi is from Hippie Chick and I love the hi-lo detail.  It's super comfy, looks great with sandals - but I also see myself throwing on a thicker scarf and boots and wearing this into the "Fall".  I used quotation marks because "Fall" in Texas is 85 degrees :)

P.S. - Like all serious style bloggers - I was snapping selfies with my iPhone in my streaky mirror in my poorly lit bedroom. hahaha  #goodthingimnotastyleblogger #orserious

Since I see myself wearing my vest over a maxi A LOT I wanted to show another option that could carry y'all through Fall and/or Winter. 

Skinny mustard cords (sorry! I couldn't find anything similar!), white layering tees, similar denim vest, multicolored scarf and burgundy TOMS booties.

At this point, my boys were pouring sand all over each others heads in the sandbox out back - I went outside and threatened them with having to come inside and snapped another pic. hahaha

Last outfit is white linen pants, an Anthropologie tunic and my FAVORITE SCARF EVER.  The vest is totally unnecessary to this outfit, but I love layering - so therefore it's a must.

You should also know that I'll be sporting this denim vest with my "fancy pants" as well.  I totally get that "fancy pants" aren't everyone's cup of tea... but if they are, a denim vest wold look totally adorable with them.

Ariele at Hippie Chick sent me a picture last week of the new HMWillow bangles she just got in and I immediately ran over to her house to pick mine out.  :)

I settled on the small white stones and big pink and it was love at first sight :)

Then I went back for the turquoise. hahaha

I love love love them mixed in with a few of my other bangles...

And look how fun just one looks mixed in (yes... I look like I'm 12, but my hands look like I'm 82 - hahaha)
