After I made the fabric alphabet I realized that I am a horrible estimator of fabric and that I had bunches left... so I set off on a completely random project to make Luke some sort of stuffed animal type of thing out of the scraps.

Fabric Alphabet
Since I don't have to grade papers, write lesson plans, grade more papers and answer school-related emails right now I've found a lot of spare time to work on some fun projects. I really like to sew and since there aren't that many cute things you can sew for little boys (think ruffled pants, pillowcase dresses, etc., etc., etc. for girls! hahahaha) I've resorted to making some fun little toys.
A couple of weeks ago I set out to create a magnetic fabric alphabet (random, I know) and I think it turned out really cute.
Luke has really enjoyed playing with it and that was the whole point :)

It's not out all of the time and we store it in the $2 vintage flour container I found at Goodwill. Please pardon our lack of pants in the majority of all my recent posts. We're potty training and when we're home it's just easier to have one less item of clothing to remove in an emergency situation :)

Today at the Pool
Today we met Carter and Sheaffer for some pool time. There was barely any sun for us mommies and the boys had their share of spills on the concrete, but the trip was still fun and the boys had a chance to practice their sharing skills.

Check out that cheesy grin!
Hugs!!!
We ended the day with some fist-pumping:

Building Skills
Check out Luke's tower-building skills....
... And my Lincoln Log building skills.
They must run in the family.
(if you're curious as to why I took a pic of log house it's because my brother and I played with them A LOT growing up (he's an architect now) and I thought he'd be impressed) hahaha

How cute is this???
Huh??!
Typical morning
After breakfast some playdoh time...
... Followed by dumping an entire bag of pretzels on the floor.
Then some antics at hobby lobby...
... Followed by a trip to see re fish at walmart.
Then back home to eat lunch and build a fort...
... And trace our feet on the Magna Doodle.
Then a nap! ;)

Gardening
Here are some more random cell phone pics....
These lilies FINALLY bloomed! They didn't bloom last year and at the end of last summer I thought I had pulled them all out. When they showed up again this spring I figured I'd give them one more chance. Glad I did!
Now I'd like to have a moment of silence for my petunias. I have 3 pots of these and this was a few weeks ago in their prime... They're still hanging in there but the heat is definitely taking it's toll.

Luke Loves TOMS
Prepare yourselves for a BUNCH of posts involving poor quality phone pictures. I take a bunch of pics with my phone and then forget to post them... So I'm going to try to post a bunch today.
This is Luke walking around with no pants and my silver sparkly TOMS. I cant wait for his feet to get a little bigger so I can get him the Tiny TOMS because apparently he loves the brand as much as I do. ;)

Beach Buddies
This pic is from SEVERAL weeks ago , but I am STILL trying to catch up. I am soooo grateful to have a great group of girlfriends who all have young kids.... these boys (along with LOTS of other kiddos) are going to be friends whether they like it or not! :) hahaha
Not that we want them to grown up any faster than they are, but the other moms and I were definitely envious of the moms of the 6 - 10 year old boys who were there - they were lounging in their chairs, reading magazines and talking as we were chasing our crew all over the beach. :)

Makeover
I redid my blog a few months ago and thought it was time for a summer makeover :) Hope ya'll like the new look! I thought I was just going to be doing it for myself, but have ended up designing a few blogs for friends as well. I'm really enjoying it and have decided to add it to my list of "services" on www.slightlyaskewdesigns.com . Before I could advertise making over blogs on the Slightly Askew site I had give it a makeover itself and so be sure and head over there and check out the new look as well as lots of fun, new projects I've been working on. I have a LOT of stuff in the works right now so be sure to check back and see several fun new baby announcements, shower invitations, blog designs and birthday party invitations in the next week or so! Thanks so much for supporting me in my creative venture! :)

Play Doh Snake
Luke has come up with this new game and whenever we play with playdoh he wants me to make him a snake... ... then he takes his little knife and starts chopping.
And he chops and chops and chops.
And he chops and chops and chops.
Until his snake looks like this... I'm not sure whether or not I should be disturbed or proud :) I'm leaning toward proud. ha!
