Summer decor

Nothing says summer to me like red, white and blue.  I want to wear it, I want my kids to wear it and I want it all over my house.  I LOVE me some red, white and blue!  This is kind of a shocking statement because on any other day I don't love red or blue.  But in the summer I'm all about it.

I was cleaning on Saturday and the mood struck just right and I decided to go ahead and summer-ize the house.  It's perfect for Memorial Day and will last us all the way through Fourth of July and COULD even go through Labor Day if I wasn't crazy and didn't put up Back-To-School decorations :)

On the large tiered stand on our kitchen table I put a few latte bowls, a candle, a decorative plate (on one of these stands) and a glass jar of flags.

On the side table I brought out the metal fireworks that I picked up at Hobby Lobby a few years ago...

... and added the prettiest white peonies EVER.

On the mantle I put up this bunting and greenery (both from Hobby Lobby)...

And I finished it up with these blue ticking pillows from Homegoods.

I kept the kitchen pretty simple...

... really all I added was this little handprint canvas that Mason made a few years ago (you can find the tutorial  HERE).

The wreath I made in   this tutorial years ago is still going strong on the front porch...

... as is the world's biggest asparagus fern who apparently really likes this spot because it is growing like CRAZY!!!

Out back I added this bunting to the gazebo...

... and the kids and I kept our tradition of putting a bunch of tiny flags around the yard :)

On the patio I added some outdoor pillows I found at Homegoods (shocking, I know)...

... and the flag that I made a few years ago that's been stashed in the garage found a temporary spot above the potting table.  I need to seal and hang it at some point - but that's a project for another day.  You can find the tutorial for it  HERE.

Here's hoping you found a little red, white and blue-spiration for your home this summer!

  5. It looks great, so summery;). I put flags in my pots around our pool and was wondering whether I should leave them in or take them out now that Memorial Day is over? Thoughts?

  10. Love decorating with red, white and blue too!! Love putting flags everywhere. I also have the greenery piece from Hobby Lobby. I didn't have a place for it but I recently purchased a new piece of furniture and so many possibilities have opened up so it was a must have piece for me. :)
