Friday Favorites - 12/15

Today's post is going to be short and sweet because y'all... this has been a WEEK!  I'm happy to say that I'm DONE with Christmas cards, all of my exams (and practice exams and answer keys and prep emails and study guides) are prepped, my report cards are done and my house is only halfway a disaster ;)  I'm not sure I've been asleep before 1:00 a.m. a single day this week but Christmas break is in our sights and we're determined to finish strong!

ErikaNarci and I are sharing our favorites again this week and we'd love for you to join  us.

We brought back three of  our FAVORITE snowmen this week and the kids could NOT be happier!

Which prompted me to go back and look at the picture from last year and look how much they've grown!

First grade was outside on the circle during my morning planning period and Mason and his bestie were walking around with their arms around each other deep in conversation.  My FAVORITE moment from that day!

This week I reviewed with all of my classes for a Chapter test, wrote and gave the chapter test, graded all the tests, then did two days of exam review (OMG) covering and entire semester and by yesterday afternoon I literally thought I might pass out. hahaha  I ran out during my afternoon planning period to grab a couple of my FAVORITES and powered through  the rest of the day.  There's secret power in a cheese danish and a hot tea :)

On Monday night we invited some of our FAVORITE people to join us on a carriage ride to look at lights.  We haven't done this before and we had so much fun! Loved this creative flag display...

... and we all had a good oooh and ahhhh over this house...

... and this house totally reminded me of the houses in NC.

Such a fun night!

This quote came across my Pinterest feed this week and I LOVE it!

And our FAVORITE elf has been busy keeping everyone giggling (he's hanging from the upstairs loft into the family room in the pic below)...

And our principal gave us "jeans days" for the rest of the quarter (FAVORITE!!!)...

This girl and her crazy pose and festive shirt are my FAVORITE...

... and this song is a new FAVORITE that's been on major repeat!

I picked up a few Christmas books a couple of weeks ago and we have been LOVING them!

Song of the Stars is so pretty and the story is beautiful and simple.  You can feel the anticipation building throughout the book and it's just a really special take on the birth of Jesus (and it's on MAJOR sale right now!)

The Littlest Watchman is a PRECIOUS story, but it's a little bit longer so it would be best for kids probably 6 and up.

The illustrations in The Christmas Promise are my kids FAVORITE and I loved how accurate the story was.

Also, if you spend $15 on books on Amazon right now you can get $5 off with the code BOOKGIFT17 ! WOO HOO!!!

This weekend we're having breakfast with Santa (one of our FAVORITES!) and I'm hoping to get the kids rooms organized before Christmas break.

HAPPY HAPPY Friday, friends!!!

PS - the book links were affiliate links - thank you so much for supporting my blog!

  2. Those snowmen are adorable. My kids LOVED inflatables when they were little. After a teenage phase when they thought they were way too cool for them, I think we might be back to liking them again. It looks like you had a busy week...here's to the holidays!
