Easy Like Sunday Morning

Lionel Richie had obviously never experienced a Sunday at my house when he wrote his song :)  'Cause Sunday mornings are anything but easy.  hahaha

And the frustrating thing about Sunday mornings for me is that my boys always look so cute! It's rare that they're both clean, dressed, wearing shoes and have combed hair at the same time and so I want to try and get a cute picture of the two of them.  BUT, Sunday morning is also when we're packing Mason's bag, hunting down our nursery tags and trying to grab all of our necessary items (a check for someone, a shoe that someone left, a book I'm returning to someone else, etc.)

It's not a recipe for great picture taking.  Example A)

Mason wanted to do ANYTHING except sit and look at me...

Luke was laughing SO hard at his crazy brother/escapee :)

Mulan

We check out movies from the library ALL THE TIME and Saturday morning Luke and Dave went and checked out tons of new books and several new movies.  After nap time, Dave came home for a break and brought us french fries (YUM!) and we put in Mulan for Luke to watch.  Mason settled right in next to him to watch as well :)

The picture below I took with my cell phone - typically if something sweet is going on I don't have time to run and get my good camera.  In this case, the sweetness went on for quite a while and I was able to get a few good pics as well.

Operation Overboard

Last week Luke attended Vacation Bible School at Christ Fellowship.  It was 9-11 on Monday - Thursday and he had the best time!  The theme was Operation Overboard and they went on "diving missions" going "deep" into the word of God :)

Here is my little Diver and Dave before leaving for VBS on Thursday morning.

SO STINKIN' BIG!!!

Dave, Gibi, Haha, Mason and I all attended his "program" Thursday at 11.  Here's Luke walking in (he's holding his teacher's hand)...

Mason was really into the lights :)

Each of the age groups (3, 4 and 5) went to the front and sang a song - here you can kind of see Luke dancing while the 3 year olds performed.

There he is!!!

The girl behind him pushed her way up front and I could see Luke say to her, "MOVE PLEASE - I CAN'T SEE MY MOMMY!"

She proceeded to dance in front of him..

... and so he made his move around her :)

Dave had to hurry back to work (this was right in the middle of his lunch rush), but I managed to get a cute picture of my boys with Haha and Gibi

Doesn't he look so excited?!?!  Right before I took this picture there were two little girls standing in front of the backdrop posing with their hands on their hips, smiling and all that - and then I get this...

I'm so glad that my little man had such a fun time.  Every day he came home talking about his teachers, crafts and even though he wouldn't sing them for us - he told us that he was working on learning songs. :)

Punctuation

Punctuation is important.  A comma would have been helpful in this CLASSIC picture of Dave and three of his siblings :)
Dave is in the black and white stripe shirt (PS I took the picture of the picture with my iPhone - sorry about the blurriness)

Camping

Early on in the summer, Luke kept asking me to build him a tent out of blankets so he could "camp".  After a  few failed attempts at blanket tent building I just put one of the pieces of his playhut set on his bed.  He loved it so much that it's now been on there every night since :)
We set his sound machine to "rain" and every night he camps out in his room.

Solidarity

Luke was having a timeout and Mason decided to show his brotherly solidarity and join him. (one sock and all)

Sleepy

Summer has been busy and some days we're WORN OUT!  Here are a few pictures to prove it :)

How big does Luke look in this picture?!?!?! Long legs :)

Foyer

Today I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner SUYL and showing y'all my foyer.
Here's a picture taken from standing at my front door:

This front part of our house is supposed to be formal living (in the very front) and formal dining (in the area pictured below).  We're not super formal people, so we made these areas into our main living area.  The kind of empty area is always changing - sometimes it's a Thomas the Train room :), other times it's where I spread sewing out, sometimes we put a huge round table that we have in there and have a Valentines dinner party for 8. hahaha

Looking back into the entry:

One of my very favorite things are my Sid Dickens tiles. I've blogged about them before but seriously, love!  I have a few more hanging around the house just waiting until I have 5 to make a new row.

This dresser/entry table has been a LIFE SAFER! We each have one of the top drawers and it's where we throw keys, pacifier clips, school work, mail, etc.

Here's a view from last October:

And here's a view from about 2 weeks after we moved in in April of 2009:
