Sid Love

One of my very very favorite things are Sid Dickens Memory Blocks. I was introduced to them when I worked weekends at Ambrosia (a boutique on the McKinney square) and got my first one (the yellow "Once Upon A Time" block) when Luke was born. They all have a story behind them (the Jesus tile I won at the MCA auction a few years ago - I had a student bidding for me and she had the best time "watching" the sheet and took great pride in sneaking in right after the last bidder to win it. hehehe, Luke picked out the one with the heart for Mother's Day last year, etc. etc).
I started with three tiles back in 2008 and my collection has grown to 20! YAY! Every Fall and Spring the designer comes out with a new collection as well as a retirement list.

They're all handmade and unique and I am obsessed with all the different textures and finishes.
My in-laws gave me this one for Christmas this year and I LOVE it! It's my first all silver tile.
My parents gave me this "Tree of Life" block (it was a Habitat for Humanity online benefit auction) and I LOVE how weird it is. hahaha Anyway, not sure if I've ever shared about them before so I thought I'd take a minute to show you!

Be sure to check out Sid's site: www.siddickens.com - the Spring 2012 collection is out to look at and there are a couple that I am absolutely DROOLING over. :)
